I flew high in the skies and hovered in place. I'm 14 and only 5 years ago I learned how to fly. It's kinda ridiculous. Dark is much better at flying than me and I get tired really fast. Something zoomed by me and threw me off balance. I fell and fell into the lake below me. I almost choked and swam to the surface. I saw Dark on the shore laughing his face off. I reached the shore and took my dark green, soaking shirt off and threw it at him. "Did you HAVE to do that?" He groaned. Now I laughed at him. He took off his shirt and laid it on the ground. He smirked. "Race you to the grand tree staircase!" We often had these races now. It was always so much fun. He ran until he jumped off the cliff of the lake. He dropped down a few feet before he took of flying. I jumped after him and tried catching up but knew that I would get tired faster. I would usually lose but I was fine with it. It was always so much fun. He landed at some point and we were still pretty far so he stopped. I landed next to him and he was panting "Tired?" I asked. "Yep. I was so set on getting there before you." He chuckled. "Yeah right!" I playfully punched him in the shoulder. I saw a lock of red hair in the distance. "Hey Dark! It's Shade!" She was wearing her green shirt with puffy sleeves as usual and her gray pants and shoes with bandages going from her knees to her shoes. I called out to her. "Hey! Shade!" She turned and flew over to us. "Dark, Anti." She nodded as she greeted us. "You going hunting?" She nodded and smiled. "Your father is taking me to the outskirts to hunt." My mood became impressed. And based on the vibe change beside me, Dark was impressed too. "Whoa! I haven't even been to the outskirts yet." Dark said. "Same. Hey can you tell my dad I said hi?" I asked. "Of course! I'm sure he'd be happy to hear from you!" She moved her sleek blue wings in a goodbye and waved her hand with her bow in it in the air Dark suddenly flew off laughing. "See ya Shade!" I flew after him and we flew until I closed my eyes and laughed until I heard a shout. "Anti! LOOK OUT!" I crashed into someone. And they fell I opened my eyes and caught their wrist. "Sorry Papa." I laughed. Dark was laughing hysterically. Father flew up to look me in the eyes. "Open your eyes when you're flying okay?" I nodded. "Shade is in that field waiting for you! I'll see you home Papa!" I flew away and waved goodbye. He did the same and Dark wasn't paying attention so I got a bit of a head start. We raced all they way to the grand tree and flopped down on the grass next to the entrance. He laughed and laughed while we had no breath. "Ah! And how are you young boys doing?" A female voice sounded. It was Sorceress Jacklyn. She has brown and pink ombré hair and she always wears a purple waisted dress with a white top and bottom. Shehas a blue bow attached to the back and she has a belt with a small harp attached a a small bag with runes for magic. "Hi Sorceress Jacklyn." We said in unison. "Are you having another race?" She asked. "Had. And now we're tired." Dark said. Jacklyn's twenty and she doesn't have wings. She was born with, what she says, majestic purple wings but when you become a sorcerer, you have to sacrifice them for magic. She doesn't mind. She has her husband to help get her around. She's 25. She laughed in our expense. "I'm here waiting for my husband. I wait out here every day at around this time for him." I nodded. "I've never asked before, do you live or work in the grand tree?" Dark asked. "My workshop is here. As is your fathers. And your mother's shop is here too, am I correct?" She pushed up her glasses and began fiddling with her crystal necklace. "Yep." She turned to Dark. "And how are your parent doing Dark? Nobody hears much about them." He nodded. "For a noble family, they're quiet about it." He smiled a bit. Everyone knows how much noble families here boast about their nobility. Dark's family is very quiet about it. Almost silent. We talked to her until the sun set a few minutes later. Her husband flew up to her and smiled at her then us. We waved and she said goodbye before we flew off and flew about the square. "Where to now?" I asked. He thought for a moment before he smiled and looked at me. "Secret Place?" He asked. "Ok. But no racing. I'm gonna fall." He nodded and I flew next to him in silence. When we reached the spot the mountain houses that were near the huge and majestic statue had their lights on. We lived in the tree part of our world and what separates us from them, the wall of trees. The cube of earth were floating about the mountains, pouring water down the sides to shape the houses like always. There were little lighting bugs floating around and one floated right up to me. I put my hand up next to it. "Dark lookit!" He looked and saw the lighting bug and his pink eyes glittered. They already glowed in the dark, as did my green eyes. I grinned at the small, shining bug before it flickered and flew away. "It's so beautiful tonight." Dark said. I smiled wider. "Yeah. It really is."
