We are older. Twenty-four now. We've been in the outskirts, and have warded off some trouble-making beasts in the outskirts too. We don't see each other as much because we have our own duties. And lately I've only gotten a wave and a smile from him because... well, our world is falling apart. It's dying. I flew home and looked inside to see my mother managing things around the house. "Mother! I can do that, you have more important duties." I called to her. She looked up at me and smiled. "Are you sure that's alright?" She asked, even though the look in her eyes asked me, "please do take over." I nodded and she rushed over to me. "Thank you Anti! All that's left is the laundry and the sweeping. I'm off to the workshop!" She patted me on the shoulder and jumped off the step platform to go the the grand tree workshop. I sighed and got to work. I liked helping my mom out but the tasks were kinda demeaning. We can fly and do all these things but we can't figure out how to do laundry and sweep faster. I was focused on my work when I heard someone come through the entryway. I thought it would be my mom or dad or a brother or sister... but they called out. "Hello? Anyone home?" It was Dark. I was in the back of the house so I set my stuff down and called back to him. "Yep! I'm coming!" I rushed forwards and tripped over a chair leg and I set the books on it so I fell with a thunk, the chair fell with a thunk, and all the books fell on top of me. "Ow!" I cried out. Dark rushed into the room before almost dying of laughter. "It's not funny! Now help me!" I flailed around. I couldn't get up because I realized that another chair had fallen on top of me too and I was pinned down. "Help me!" He laughed for another solid ten minutes until he began getting the stuff off me. He helped me up and I swat him in the shoulder once he was done. He laughed a little until his face went completely flat. "D-dark? Are you okay?" His face lit up again. "Yeah! I'm fine." He was thinking about our world. We knew about the world below us and that nobody down there thought we existed. I looked through one on the windows and saw that the sun was setting. "I was looking for your father. One of my shoes busted." He chuckled so I chuckled with him. "I was just about to go out." I said. So I walked past him and and jumped of the platform. I usually would invite him to fly with me but... his mood is so downfalling. I didn't know where is go. I looked around to find somewhere to sit for a while and I saw Mrs. Goldeen. I flew down to her. "Hi Mrs. Goldeen." I greeted her. "Ah! Why hello Anti!" "What are you doing?" I asked. She looked back up at the sky. "I'm watching the sunset." I nodded. "Well, I'll leave you be then. Good evening Mrs.Goldeen." I flew off and waved. She waved back and smiled. I thought of the sunset and thought of the perfect place to see it. I flew as fast as I could to the secret place and when I did reach it, it sat down and looked at the sunset until it went behind the grand statue to cast a huge and beautiful shadow. I could see the twin towers behind the statue that nobody has really recognized in a while and they looked beautiful in the sunset. I smiled a very tiny smile until I felt the rush of wind behind me. I didn't bother to turn around thinking it was just a bird until I felt something on my wing. I turned to look at it, I saw a pink wing over mine so I looked next to me and saw Dark. I looked back forward and admired the sunset again. "I wish that we could do this as much as we did when we were little." I nodded and smiled. "Yeah me too." He leaned closer to me and held out his hand. "I mean, look at this view!" "You always mention the view." I chuckled. "Yeah. I guess I do."
