Emily Pov
I stand in the training room, trying to get everything I've been thinking about out of my head. I was hoping a little workout would help, but every time I pinch the punching bag, a different memory of Ashton pops into my head. I've been here for a couple weeks now, and the initiates are coming later today. The only problem is that I can't stop thinking about Ashton. I hate to talk like this because its really cheesy, but I miss him holding me, him kissing me every chance he gets, I just miss... him. I stop when I hear the doors swing open. I turn to see that guy Eric. "Hey! How did you get down here? Your not supposed to be here." He scolds me.
"Really? Why don't you ask six. She's the one who brought me here."
"I knew having a girl as a leader would be bad."
"Hey, my mom is a women, and I bet a better dauntless than you are. So just shut up and don't about her that way."
"Who cares about your mom? I was talking about six."
"Your an idiot, for a former erudite. Six is my mom."
"How do you-"
"I do my research." He stands there shocked. "Don't be surprised. Why did you come in here?"
"I'm getting the things ready for the new initiates."
"Oh right. They are coming today. You know I'm helping training." I say turning around knowing he'll through a hissy fit.
"What!? You didn't even go through initiation! How is that possible?" He screams. I just shrug.
"I already knew how to fight and throw knives before I came here. The only thing I needed to learn was to shoot a gin, but that was easy stuff." I say like no big deal.
"What about fear landscape?" I turn to him. Eyebrows ruffled together.
"Who's it what's it?"
"Fear landscape. Guess your mommy doesn't want you getting scared." He says like I'm a baby.
"You really think I'm 5 don't you? I'm pretty sure I've been through more shit than you have." I walk out of the room not being able to handle him anymore. If I stayed I would have punched him in the face and kick him in the balls. That isn't exactly a had thing since he is an ass, but still it wouldn't be right. I go to my room once I get home and lay down on my bed. I stare up at the ceiling letting my thoughts wonder. Of course they somehow find Ashton and pull him in. I can't believe I get to go home in a like month. I get to see Ashton. I know he probably hated me, hut all I want to do is see him one last time. If he does hate me and never wants to talk to me again, then all I want is a goodbye. A real one. With a hug, and I'll cry as he walks out of my life forever. Not even looking back at me, showing I mean nothing to him anymore. Even though that spends horrible, I feel like that's just what I need right now. To brake down. Just to see if I can build myself back up again.
McKenzie walks into my room not even knocking. "Show time, girl." I get up and follow her down to the net. I already know who was in the initiation, I just don't know who will make it this far. They set up a screen so we can see what is going on on the roof. When it turns on, I see all of the kids that were in that program at school and Eric.
"Welcome initiates that made it this far. So far you have gotten a chance for the program, gotten into the program, jumped on and off a moving train, and now you will jump off thus building. Fail to do so and you will not be entering Dauntless compound." He tells them.
"Do you think we are crazy? Who would ever jump off a building?" Ricky asks. It stays silent.
"Well someone needs to jump first, right?" Eric asks. "So who's it gonna be?" No one answers. "Oh, come on. Either someone steps up, or I push someone off." He says with a smirk playing on his lips. Still no one answers him. "Alright, ..... smart ass. Come on up." He nods towards Ricky. He looks around confused nd then points to himself asking if he meant himself. "Yes, now come on. We don't have all day." He walks up and stands on the ledge. He looks down at the ground and looks like he is going to faint. "Either jump, or I push you." Ricky looks back at Eric and then down at the hole again. "Or step down." Eric shrugs. It takes about 3 minutes until Eric just pushes him. He screams like a little girl, and everyone starts laughing. They all keep laughing until he stops bouncing on the net. He looks around confused.
