Chapter 1 "The Nightmare"

CHAPTER 1 "THE NIGHTMARE"

I was running. Nowhere to go and nowhere to hide. Oh my god please please dont let him catch me. I'm so scared, I can hardly breath, I can't go any further.

"Mom, Dad!!!!", I weeped as the tears were literally choking down my throat.

"Please. Help Me!!!", I screamed desperately.

But no answer. As I kept running I had remembered what my mom told me before this point and what had happened. It's all my fault.

**FLASHBACK**

I heard the crashing of the windows and a BOOM from somebody breaking down the front door.

"Mom", I said my voice shaking. "Their here".

"I know honey, it'll be alright just stay close and stay calm", she said calmly.

We were being attacked by a ruthless army of rouges. We dont know why but, they were killing anything that moved and was a werewolf. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I thought about if I would ever see my friends again. Briana, Layla, and Vivian. I hope they are all alright. From what I heard their packs were being attacked too. I cant believe this. It all happened way too fast, before I knew it people were dying right in front of me. The screaming, crying, the slaughter oh god it was all too much. Why here, why now.

"Why did this happen mom?" I said still crying.

"I dont know sweetie, but I love you. Thats all that m---" she said before a huge bang on the door interrupted her.

We were hiding in the closet in the back of the room not making a single sound. I heard slow footsteps. Whoever it was was definitely looking for us. I wanted to cry so bad but i knew if I let out the smallest weep the rouge would find us. Oh god why. Then my mom lowered herself to my ear and whispered.

"When he finds us run to the waterfall, Aunt Clara will be waiting for you. Do you understand me Shania", she said in a stern but shaky voice.

I didnt argue, I just nodded. I hugged her.

"I love you mom", tears still streaming down my face.

"I love you too", she said with tears streaming down her face as well.

And at that moment the closet door panged open and an unfamiliar voice spoke.

"Hello, I've finally found you", he growled.

He looked the same age as me 15. Dark brown hair and cold brown eyes to match. I didnt know who he was or what he wanted but I sure enough didnt care to find out. Just as I saw an opening i punched his gut. He winced down in pain. Yeah Im pretty strong. But as I saw a means of escape he grabbed my mom by the neck. Stopping me right in my tracks.

"Run and I'll break her neck", he said ferociously.

"NO! LEAVE HER ALONE!!".

"Go shania", my mom said barely being able to choke out words.

"MOM!", I yelped.

"Come here and I release your mother", he said gripping her neck tighter. I could see the pain she was enduring.

"NO! Stop It!!"

"Suit yourself", he said reluntantly laughing. And in a split second he snapped her neck and my mom laid lifeless still in his hands.

"Aww to bad. So fragile too", he said while smirking all nonchalant.

"NO!", I weeped in anger, pain, and sadness. She was gone. No, whyyyy. And then i heard a voice. It was my wolf.

"Go. Run. Live. NOW!!" she yelled.

My instincts then took over and I shifted. Before I was realizing my actions I was already rinnung at a high racing speed. Then I remembered the waterfall, I must run to the waterfall. I was so scared, so lost. The afternoon was growing into night. Oh my god would he find me. Those cold brown eyes. No I must not think of them. I must keep running.

**FLASHBACK OVER**

I kept calling their names over and over again but still no answer. I knew my mom was gone but what about my dad. I couldn't find him no matter how hard I tried or where i looked. But that was not the issue at hand. The waterfall is so far from our packs. Its miles and miles away. Its black as ever at night but, i must keep moving. I was so tired, I wasnt even in my wolf form anymore. I feel like collapsing. But just when i thought about it I heard the sound of running water. I may be tired but my hearing does not deceive me. I ran no matter how much my legs felt like jello. I ran and there it was the beautiful waterfall that glistened under the full moon and stars. Finally after looking for awhile I found Aunt Clara, Briana, Layla, and Vivian. As I ran across I could see dry tears on their faces and when they saw me their face shocked with disbelief had fresh tears pouring down like there was no tomorrow. We didnt talk just cried in each others arms. While Aunt Clara wrapped a towel around me since i was kinda cold and naked.

But then I felt it. That prescence. Oh no did he find me?! No it can't be. I tried to scream to the others but no words could come out. Whats going on?!!! Then I saw him coming towards us from behind the trees with his cold brown eyes.

NO. Closer and closer.

NO. He got closer and closer.

NO. Please. No. He started to smile.

"NO!!!", I screamed waking up Layla, Briana, and Vivian.

"What The Hell?!!!!", Briana screeched.

"There better be a rapist raping you if thats the reason why your screaming 4' o clock in the DAMN morning", Layla stated in an annoyed tone.

While Vivian simply pulled the covers over head and went back to sleep. Poor Vivian.

"Um sorry, I, I had the dream again", I said quietly still shaking a little.

They said nothing but pulled me in closer and cuddled with me and said its ok, goodnight. I love to cuddle.

"Maybe our mate will too", my wolf purred in excitement.

Yeah maybe he will. In about 3 hours we were going to have to get up for our first day of our senior year. Maybe this year will be different. Maybe i'll find my mate. For once I was actually pretty excited. I closed my eyes as my imagination went crazy on what my mate would look like or even be like. A small smile stretched across my face as I slowly drifted off into a long peacful sleep.
