"Nix, " Normal Speech.
'Nix, ' Normal Thought.Ever since the day his Sister, Winter, was born and he noticed the strange red String of Aura connecting her to him. He had long speculated that its existence meant that Winter, would one day kill him. He didn't know why or how, but that's what he at the time speculated.
His speculation was based on some of the information he had attained from reading old books and Tomes. In them, it was stated that a strange red String made of Aura was an early sign of impending death. How that would work, Nix didn't know.
But as time went on, he started to doubt the String meant an early sign of death. If he isn't mistaken, as he doesn't exactly remember, in his previous world a red String symbolized love or marriage he believes. And he remembers that Strings date back to ancient times in his previous world. The Moirae were the caretakers of the Thread of Life, also known as the Strings of Life, among countless other names.
A few weeks of research yielded nothing of import. It wasn't until a few weeks later that he would finally learn something new in an unlikely and unexpected place and by total accident. He and his parents were having dinner together since Winter was put to sleep just previously while she was watched over a few maids. At the time he was frustrated that he hadn't learned anything pertaining to the String. He overheard his Father telling his Mother a joke, which he presumed to be corny, but his mother had found it funny and began laughing, which joined in on. He had looked at them thinking they were crazy when he saw a faint sparkle of silver between his Father and Mother.
At first, he was unsure as to what he was seeing, thinking it was just light refraction, but it made a slightly larger spark which split off and connected to both of his parents. That caught his attention immediately and the proceeded to transfer some of his Aura to his eyes to see what he could find out.
What he found surprised him, he saw a faint silver String of Aura connecting both his Father and Mother together. And that it was fluctuating as they both laughed together. He also noticed two blue and two pink Strings of Aura flowing faintly off of his parents, each having one pink and one blue connected to them. He followed the blue Strings, which oddly flowed in his direction. When he got to the end of the blues Strings which seem to connect to him, he was both surprised and confused at there apparent existence.
Surprised, because he had never noticed any type of Strings connected to him or his parents in the past, or anybody for that matter. Confused, because he didn't know what they mean, or why they even exist in the first place.
Remembering that there were also two pink Strings flowing off of his parents, he began to follow them with his eyes, he even had to transfer more Aura to his eyes so he could see through the walls. He was surprised to find that they flowed to where his Sister was currently located, he could also see the red String flowing off his sister to him.
Realizing what the Strings signified. He concluded that the Blue one meant, Parent and Son; and the Pink one meant, Parent and Daughter. He also assumes the Silver one means either Love, Marriage, and/or Soulmates.
He supposes the Red String could signify a Sibling, but why the color red, and why not another color like green or yellow. The color red seems too vibrant and bright to signify a Sibling.
While he did learn was the Strings meant, but in doing so he now had even more questions.
...
Ever since he was little, he has been showered with his parent's love. He rarely, if ever, got in trouble where his parents were mad at him. And he knew his parents loved him and adored him even when Winter was born. Even if his Father showed him love a little less openly than his Mother, Nix still knew his Father loved him by his Father words. Unlike his Father, his Mother showed him she loved him by her actions, as opposed to his Fathers Words, by spending more time with him, playing with him when he was younger, or anything that required a more hands-on activity.
