The creature's fangs drip with a slimy black substance as it snarls down at me. It's eyes are completely white and almost look like they are about to pop out of his head. It is covered all over in an inky black substance. It's sharp claws dig into the plaster and wood of the roof, holding it up there. It almost resembles a dog. I cover my mouth in shock as I realise what it is.

I hear Jake raise his gun to shoot it, but I quickly snatch his gun and stupidly kick it across the floor, the creature hears the sound of the gun skidding across the floor and climbs across the roof above it at a frightening pace, before climbing down on top of it, it's hind leg claws still hooks into the roof as it snatches it in his jaws. He's about to climb back up on the roof, but a floorboard creaks behind me from one of the guys. I mentally facepalm as the creature snaps his head in our direction and growls. It's almost like it can't see through those dull, white, bulging eyes. I almost feel bad for it, plus, I know who it was.

"Go." I whisper urgently, but quietly to the guys. The creature screeches and begins speeding towards us, crushing the gun in it's jaws. The now snapped gun clangs on the ground right behind me, as we all bolt back down through the halls.

I look back to see the creature trailing right behind us.

Suddenly, I hear something shatter on the floor from in front. I switch my gaze to look ahead and see Drew on the ground in a layer of shattered glass and broken splinters. He looks winded and dazed.

Just ahead, running for dear life is Jake. I get suspicious but forget about it and focus on the now instead.

I hear a clang and look back to see the creature's claw is hooked around a large pipe inside the roof.

"There isn't enough time." I mutter to Drew, as he comes back to his senses. Within seconds I hear a metallic snap behind me and I throw myself down beside Drew, pulling him closer to me to move him from where the noise was made. He gives me a confused look, but I'm too focused on the creature to notice.

It quickly climbs perfectly overhead and hangs down by it's hind legs, which are still hanging onto a wood plank in the roof. We both slow down our breathing and try to relax a bit as the creature stops lowering itself right in front of our faces. I can already feel it's- strangely enough- cold breath on my face. Drool slowly drips out of it's mouth in a silvery colour, right above Drew, heading for his face. He makes a grossed out face and turns his head to face me as it gets dangerously close.

He almost seems uncomfortable, as our faces are so close to one another's. Just like me, it must make him feel awkward too.

After a few seconds and the creature doesn't move, I grab a large white piece of glass and carefully throw it off to my right side, away from the front door and leaving us a perfect path to the door.

It pulls itself back up and runs over to where the noise sounded, and as soon as it does so, I pull Drew up with me and drag him over to the front door. The creature screeches as soon as it hears the sound of the shattered glass being crushed beneath our heavy boots. It charges at us and almost catches us in it's unnaturally large fangs, as we head straight through the door.

"That," I begin, trying to swallowing down my quick breathing, to relax, "Was my dog, Blaze." I finish.

"You never told me you had a dog!" Drew exclaims, also trying to relax from our little chase.

"Animals must be able to get infected too somehow", I guess.

We both stare blankly at each other for a couple seconds, before I realise we are still holding hands. I quickly unlatch my hand from his, "Is your back okay?" I ask, swiftly changing the subject. He had fallen on shattered glass and splinters, so I doubt that would've been very comfortable.

He smiles weakly, "Yeah. I'm fine." He quickly says. I give him an unconvinced look, "I mean it!" He claims.

"Just let me see, Drew." I basically command him. Once he doesn't move, I quickly try to skip around him, but of course, he somehow 'foresees' what I'm about to do and grabs my arms, crossed over one another, "Drew!" I say, trying to step forward.

He laughs and steps back, I take another step closer and he steps back again. Except, this time, his back hits the wall of my old house, right beside the front door. He gives me a nervous look and his cheeks achieve a tinted red colour once I've trapped him, "Gotcha!" I yell and take my hands out of his grasp. I grab his arms the same way and pull him away from the wall just enough to pull them behind his back so he can't move. I'm finally facing his back.

"Jess, let me go!" He yells.

We stand right in front of the front door of my old house. Which was also very stupid because, next thing we know, we are on the ground from fright as the creature screeches through the doorway, like an old women who's yelling at us for being too loud and standing on her porch.

We both start laughing when we realise it can't get to us, it must only travel on roofs of houses, "That. Scared me." I say with a sigh. After a couple seconds, Drew stands up himself, before helping me up, "Thanks." I mutter.

"Hey, are you done with your shenanigans yet, so we can set up camp, or nah?" I hear Jake call to us from where the horses are tied up. He leans against Twilight, staring at me, waiting for an answer.

"Oh, sorry." I quickly say.

I do notice Drew glare at Jake, but quickly ceases to do so when I glance at him. He gives me a look that says, 'I'm sorry for what I'm about to do.' Trust me, I know that look, he's given me enough of that look for me to understand. But, why is he giving me that look now?

He walks over to Jake. I see a mischievous glint in Jake's eyes as Drew stops in front of him. Drew speaks quietly to him, almost like he hopes I don't hear what he says, "I don't care. You were too slow." Jake chuckles, seemingly careless of what Drew says.

"Okay, what the hell is you two's problem? Why can't I hear what you're saying? You two are being childish and stupid!" I yell. I'm sick of seeing them do this stupid crap. The boys look at me immediately, wide eyed, shocked at my sudden outburst. Drew opens his mouth to speak, but I quickly continue, "Nope! That's it! We are going straight over," I search around for a good place to stay when my gaze lands on the Town Hall, "To the Town Hall!" I finish, pointing straight at the large building straight down the street.

I quickly begin marching right over there. Heck, that felt good!

The guys freeze, before quickly untying their horses and rushing up behind me. We don't say a single word while we make our way over to the large building that almost seems like a giant library.
