Room 305. The one room I should never have to walk in, I have never been to the third floor, because there never was a reason up until now for me to go up there. Let me explain why the third floor in our school is sort of prohibited to me like that trap door the three headed dog was guarding in the first Harry Potter film. The third floor is where all the rebels, the loners, the troublemakers, the mischievous kids etc. are based. Kids with anger problems, who have a hard time focusing in class, who get caught attempting to escape class and who ‘kindly’ prefer to entertain the class rather than learn, like to be sent to the third floor. It is where the teachers are awaiting them for their punishments, ranging from detentions to counselling sessions to internal exclusions. So all in all it’s where the naughty kids end up for misbehaving in class or elsewhere. I, however am far from being a rebellious student, I have good grades, I’m nice to everyone (Hunter thinks I’m too nice and I always tell him there’s no such thing as ever being too nice), most of the teacher’s like me and I’m always good to people. So why, oh why couldn’t Mr Oldman let me off just this one time?
Flashback
I rushed down the hall to room 120, and when I came upon the foreboding door, I stopped to take a huge breath and calm down my heart rate. I looked down at my wrist to see how late I was, 15minutes! Oh Darwin! I hope he’s in a good mood. I took another deep breath raised my fist to the door and knocked once, paused and repeated ‘Penny’ in my head, knocked again, paused and repeated ‘Penny’ again and knocked a final time and paused just like Sheldon taught me. When I heard the muffled ‘come in’ I braced myself for the worst and walked into the classroom. Twenty nine pairs of eyes were staring at me yet again; I seem to be attracting a lot of attention today.
“Ah Miss Parker, you have finally decided to grace us with your presence!” Mr Oldman exclaimed
I laughed nervously “Erm I-I-I’m sorry for coming late M-Mr Oldman” I stammered out
“Late? Oh no, no, no, it’s not your fault, you’re just in time. If anything, it’s my fault for starting fifteen minutes early” small snickers of laughter could be heard throughout the classroom as my face slowly started heating up.
“I-I-I… It was just…I mean…She bumped…and Mrs Henderson….and I” my tongue decided that it was the perfect time for a bit of tongue twisting; producing a full sentence was futile.
“Yes Miss Parker?” He’s face was friendly yet mocking and I knew he’s hand was just itching to write that note to Principal Van Horne to put me on that rotten list. But no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t form any words, my mouth was opening and closing like a fish with no oxygen. But then I remembered Nevada’s words, he has a soft spot for Nurse Jackie, could I really lie? I mean me lying is basically like Wile E. Coyote catching that Road Runner. We all know that there is no way in Looney Tunes history will he ever be able to catch it, most of his tricks always backifire on him.
