My family?" I look at him in disbelief. He still brings it up, even now.

"well, my family moved here at the start of the year and my brother was kicked out of our old school so here I am. "

"Why are you here then? " he looks confused.

"Because I couldn't leave him alone here. "

"Were you happy?"

"The happiest." I say while smiling

"Then you need to stop sacrificing things for them." he looks at me and I look at him.

"I didn't sacrifice OK, I helped. "

"Helped who? Sometimes you have to help yourself."

"Well I have you now so in A way I did. " I don't look at him but he stares at me.

"Thanks, you're making me blush."

"Shut up, I've gotta grab my stuff."

I walk over to my locker and he walks with me. He keeps looking at A guy who's staring angrily at me.

"I told you I can look after myself right?"

"Yeah"

"Well then let me "

I yank my locker open and throw one thing at A time towards Asher. He dodged everything apart from my novel. "Brave new world, is it good? "

"it's messed up that's what it is."

"I'll walk you to class Rory."

"I'll be fine Griffith"

"Griffith? I like it!" he says as he stumbles away.

I get to class but I am confronted with the guy who was looking at me before.
He looks angry and shoves me to the ground before I can get inside. He kicks me to make sure I'll stay down and then spits on me. I don't feel it though I'm unconscious by then and I doubt I'd feel anything.

I wake up smelling disinfectant and sweat. The paper sheets under me crunch as I tremble. A hand grabs mine and holds it tight as if it's never going to let go. I turn to see none other than Asher Griffith holding onto me with all his might.

"Rory! Oh thank god I was so scared they called the ambulance when they found you out there. "

"Ambulance? Where am I Griffith?"
I ask panicked.

"Hey don't worry I'm here I won't leave your side for a second. I promise." he looks so scared but he leans down and hugs me so tight I can barely breathe.
