( Honestly, I didn't really like Kaito at first but when I got to see his character develope I really liked him then! Like, him interacting with SHuichi and Maki and keeping them up through the game until he died. I really liked that! )

Death and fear, two chemicals for the worst final ingredient; grief.

Ever since Gonta Gokuhara died, Y/n L/n's best friend throughout the game, she had been racked with depression. Additional to that was the anger she held for Kokichi Ouma, overhearing how he had planned it.

She laid on her bed, despair induced and locked away in her dorm. Distraught with the world, distraught with her whole being.

No-one bothered to try to get her out until today.

Kaito Momota stood at the door, nervous to ring the doorbell. His feelings for her were obvious, even Gonta would hint at them to the girl, but she'd simply remain oblivious.

Gingerly, he pressed the button, emitting a doorbell-like noise... and yet, no response. He pressed it again, and again, and a few more times to be sure, and still, no response from her.

Slightly impatient, he pressed his ear to the door... A light sobbing was on the other side. He pressed the button again and called out; "Y/n! Are you okay? Y/n!"

And yet, she still refused to talk back. He felt sorry, he felt bad knowing he assisted in finding out the murder of Miu, leading to the execution of Gonta, leading to her immense sadness. He leaned his back to the door, sliding down until he was on the ground.

"...Listen Y/n, I understand how you feel, but it's better to take these emotions head-on and move past them... Come and train with me, Shuichi and Maki later! I swear, I'll do anything to make you feel better!"

...The sobbing seemed to stop. Kaito stood back up, taking a few steps away from the door before it had clicked back open. The two connected gazes before she answered; "I... I'd like that."
