I picked up my tray of food, looked around the cafeteria and spotted Jammy waving frantically at me from a distance. Jammy was kind of like my idol. She was an amazing athlete and I respected her a lot. She was the one who taught me how to play basketball. It took me two years to be able to finally get in the team because like every other teacher, coach really wasn't a fan of mine.
Jammy, Raisa, Kira and I were a part of the school's girl basketball team. I knew that we were just a bunch of girls with a passion but we couldn't just lose hope on ourselves. We might not have had the best players in the world on our side but we weren't going to give up no matter what. Marcie on the other hand was a die hard cheerleader. I never thought much of it, but it was something she liked doing.
I approached our usual table and couldn't help but felt a little sad that Marcie wasn't there yet. I hadn't seen her all day because of my being late that morning and also the sad fact that we didn't have any classes together. I had to clean up the whole kitchen after the chaos that happened and Matt just went MIA on me. I didn't even get to eat dinner.
I missed her a lot and hoped that I would see her soon. I decided that I wanted to hear more about her vacation despite the fact that James's name had practically put a stop to my happiness the day before. Marcie wouldn't do anything stupid. I knew her.
"Hey guys, how was class?" I asked, as I sat down beside Raisa. Raisa looked up from her book and smiled politely before she got back to her reading. That girl just couldn't help it. Even her food was just sitting there in front of her and she wondered why she was so thin. I shook my head a little and laughed.
"I had AP Chemistry first period and couldn't understand a word Mr. Hudson was saying!" whined Jammy, as she picked at her food.
"Well why did you take an advance placement class then?" I asked and started eating my food.
"I don't know, I just taught I could handle it. You know how much I love chemistry."
"Hey, it's not too late you know. You can always ask Dan to tutor you." I said and wiggled my eyebrows suggestively. Jammy went bright red and choked on her food.
Raisa had raised her head and the mention of Dan and the both us started laughing so hard we couldn't stop. Kira then appeared out of no where and squeezed into the seat beside mine. "Damn it Kate, stop eating so much!" She complained, and pushed me to the side a little.
"Oh please," I replied as I pointed to my unbelievably stomach. "This ain't even fat."
"Well you're not exactly borderline anorexic either. So whatever," she said and flipped her natural blood red hair. Kira had a slight tan and asian black eyes. I would never dare to tell her this, but I always thought that she had a sort of chipmunk-like face. She was cute like that.
"Gosh Kira, be a bitch why don't you?" Jammy said, a little harshly and rolled her eyes. Whoa, I thought. Someone had woken up on the wrong side of the bed today.
Kira started to glare at Jammy and Raisa looked up from her book to us with an eyebrow raised. "Did you just call her a female dog?"
"Uh, yeah. Sorry about that." Jammy replied, and smiled sheepishly as Raisa always had this thing with people and cursing. Yup, she just hated it. Naturally, I thought that that was the weirdest yet unique thing about her.
"Don't worry Rai, Kira's our female dog." I said and Kira attacked me while Jammy and Raisa looked at us with wide eyes.
I gasped for breath and laughed as Kira tickled my sides. Tears started to form at the corner of my eyes and I started to plead for freedom. "Stop! Please... I'll go shopping with you!" I begged, in between laughs.
