~ The Mission ~

  A few weeks after you met Bucky, you guys became inseparable. After that night at the party you guys were always together. Every mission, you guys were teammates. Nothing is different now as you are preparing for your next mission, but once JARVIS starts going over the details you seem Bucky's face change in the light of the screen showing where we were going, one of the largest HYDRA bases left in Siberia. Bucky is still haunted by his time with HYDRA, as you learned through a night of vodka and cards. This mission especially hits hard because this is the base where he was used the most as the Winter Soldier, you notice his reaction and reach over to squeeze his hand to show him that everything is going to be okay.
    The next morning Steve bangs on everyone who is coming on the mission's door for wake up call. You groggily get dressed and stumble out the door as Clint speeds past you with a donut in hand. " What the hell Clint! You could've killed me with that thing", you said jokingly. You go and check on Bucky but as soon as you're about to knock, Steve yanks the door open angrily and rushes past you while Bucky is still in bed. You creep over to the bed and crawl up on it with him. You run your fingers through his hair to wake him up and he opens his eyes with a smile when he sees it's you. " Good morning sunshine" you say with a smile. You throw your arms around him in a bear hug to try and get him up out of bed but it doesn't work at all, he picks you up and puts you on his lap so you're straddling him he stretches his arms out with a loud yawn to follow. " We can just stay in bed all day and forget about this dumb mission" he says with a small smile. " I'd love to Buck but we have to get the rest of the vibranium out of there before HYDRA can use anymore of it ". He gives you a small pout and rolls you over on the bed so he can get up and get dressed. You can't help but stare at his gorgeous body as he throws on his wrinkled uniform. He notices and smiles at you. " You ready to go or do you wanna keep on staring babydoll? " You roll off the bed as Bucky holds open the door as you both exit the room. You reach for a muffin on the the kitchen counter as Thor grabs it as soon as your fingers grasp around it. He gulps it down in one bite and gives you of look of pure satisfaction. Bucky notices how pissed it makes you so he places a donut in you're hand before you try and fight the Asgardian. You are the last two to the Quinn Jet ( like always) Steve notices you climb on board " took you two love birds long enough, we ready to go guys?" He says, as a group response of yes rings through the ship. You and Buck sit together, you can sense that he is still tense about the mission so you intertwine your fingers with his and hold his hand to show that it's gonna be okay, he looks down and smiles. When the jet lands Steve pulls on his helmet and goes back over the mission plan to make sure the team gets the vibranium out as quickly and as safely as possible. Natasha and Clint look over at you and Bucky and says " see you guys in a minute" and smile at the both of you. You look at Bucky and reassure him that everything is gonna be okay as the hanger door opens and your team runs out into the compound. Once you bust down the door to the base guards come running towards you and Bucky, you both pull out your guns simultaneously he starts to shoot as you both go back to back and move in a circle, shooting guards constantly. Steve comes over the communicator and says he found the vibranium storage and everyone starts to run towards the room but on the way Bucky stops at a prison cell type room with a chair with hand & foot restraints attached , his eyes go dark for a moment before you put your hand on his shoulder and tell him you guys have to go he snaps back to reality and heads off towards the others. Once the vibranium is safely on the ship and ready for takeoff you and Bucky plop down on the seats and lay your head on his shoulder with a sigh. Later on during the flight home, you ask " what happened in that room that you were staring into Buck?" He gave you a look of sadness and said " that's where the tortured me , where he tortured and ruined me Y/N, the Winter Soldier ruined my life in that very room". You looked at him with so much sorrow as he put his head on your shoulder and started to quietly cry. Natasha looked back at you from her seat with a look of worry and you nodded back an it's  okay  as you gently ran your fingers through his hair, calming him, from the nightmare he had to re-enter..
