Chapter 8: Backstory

Jennie's POV (Couple years ago)
Okay! Today is my first day of junior year. It's probably going to be the same as freshman and sophomore but I've got to hope. I got ready and headed off to school. I didn't want to be late so I started running. I wasn't paying attention and I ran into someone. "Oh boy. I'm sorry! I wasn't paying attention and I ran into you." I said quickly. "Heh. It's okay." A voice said. I looked up and I was shocked. He was so handsome. He gave me a smile and asked if I was okay. I told him I was fine and he introduced himself. "The name's Kai." "I'm Jennie." We introduced ourselves and went our ways. He just happened to be going to my school and happened to be in my class. After he introduced himself to the class, he ran up to me and started talking to me.

We talked all the time and I considered him as my best friend. A couple months later, he asked me out and I said yes. We dated for a long time. It was senior year when I gave him the key to my apartment in case he needed a place to stay because he frequently had fights with his dad. I was working late one day and I didn't know what time I was going to go home so I told him to go ahead and eat without me.

"Jennie. I love you so much. I don't ever want to hurt you. You've changed me and I'm happy with you." He told me. I was so happy that I decided to come home early just to hug him and be there with him. When I got home and opened the door, I saw him on the couch naked with this random girl on top of him. When he saw me, he shoved her off and both of them put their clothes on. The girl ran out before I could say anything. "Hey baby I-" "Kai. We're done. Get out of my apartment and don't ever come back. I don't want to see you again. You've completely ruined my life. I hope you're happy. I hope you know that you're a cheating and lying bastard!" I yelled at him. He was shocked. He grabbed his stuff and as he walked out the door, he said "I really do love you Jennie."

BACK TO PRESENT DAY
I was crying. It was hard to breathe. "Lis, it took me so long to get over him. I thought he was really the one. I trusted him and he cheated on me. That's why I'm scared of relationships. They never-" I got cut off when Lisa grabbed me and kissed me. I couldn't help but kiss her back. She pulled away and asked "Do you regret this?" "No. You've been by my side through so much. I had a wall up and you're the only one who kept trying to break it down. You've never done anything to lose my trust and I love you so much. Lalisa Manoban, not only were you not scared of me, you even kept trying to get closer to me. You stuck up for me when you barely knew me and now you're even here comforting me and listening to me complain." I told her. I was so happy with Lisa. "I love you so much Jennie Ruby Jane!" She told me. I fell asleep in her arms and I felt so safe and secure.

Lisa's POV
Jennie had a rough day yesterday and I want her to feel better. I look over to her sleeping face and she's so beautiful. She started opening her eyes. "Good morning my love!" I told her. She starting blushing. "Good morning Lili!" She muttered while smiling. I'm glad today is Saturday.

Lisa: "Hey Jen."
Jennie: "Yes?"
Lisa: "Let's go."
Jennie: "Where??"
Lisa: "A date of course. Let me take you out and have some fun."
Jennie: "I don't know if I'm in the right mood for a date Lili."

When she said that I knew she couldn't stop thinking about yesterday. "Please Nini." I said as I gave her puppy eyes. "Ugh! You're cute. That's not fair, but fine let's go." She said while rolling her eyes. I giggled and ran off to get ready. We finished getting ready and left. I decided to take her on a day of fun. I took her to the arcade. We had a picnic at the park. Then I took her out to dinner. She smiled a lot today and it made me feel happy. I took her back to the dorms to get rest. "Thanks babe. I had a lot of fun today. You can always make me feel better!" She told me. "I'm just glad you're happy!" I told her. I gave her a kiss and told her goodnight.
