Wish that you were here - Florence + The Machine

"And I never minded being on my own
Then something broke in me and I wanted to go home
To be where you are
But even closer to you, you seem so very far
And now I'm reaching out with every note I sing
And I hope it gets to you on some pacific wind
Wraps itself around you and whispers in your ear
Tells you that I miss you and I wish that you were here"

Dear Enoch,

It's been a long two months without seeing your face. I know I should've wrote more often but honestly my exams have taken over my life. It's not so easy to write letters than it is to write text messages and I feel so formal.

How are you? I've been missing you, but I'm still coping. I wish I could come back. Florida is nowhere near as exciting as Cairnholm. I can't come back yet though. I'm waiting for August to come.

I'll always love you.

Please write back soon,

Gracie

Gracie,

Why did you ever have to leave? I wish I could be with you right now. Letters take too long to send.

I'm alright, lass, I'm alive and healthy. How were your exams? Once they've finished, you'll return? I'm still here. Waiting for and missing you, always.

I'll always love you more,

Enoch

To Enoch,

Words can't express how sorry I am. I can't come and visit, Grandpa Frank has fallen ill. I hope I can see you over Christmas though. I'll try my best.

My exams were alright, I passed most of them and schools finished. I graduated! How is everyone back in the loop?

Can't wait to hear from you and I find that quite hard to believe, I love you more and more everyday,

Your Gracie

My Gracie,

Happy 143rd birthday to me. The days are ticking by and I'm still ticking along with them. I miss you. Maybe I could come and visit you?

There's a new girl here, Lucy. Not very fond of her. Most of us are doing alright.

You better believe it lass, I love you more than the amount of stars in the sky,

Enoch

p.s.

Claire misses you. She says more than I do. Come home. Please.

Grace,

I did get your last letter, thanks for the birthday wishes. Happy 23rd Birthday, my love.

You know, I'm right... I'm losing you. You're so far away. I still love you. A promise is for life.

When will you next write?
