Chapter 2

My background check on Sidney went well. She has no criminal record and is the most innocent person I have ever met. Which I guess isn't saying much considering I'm a spy.

Well I was doing my background check on her, I thought I might as well check up on the plastics records.

Queen bee has been arrested about nine times but never actually gone to prison, funny how that works. I also learn't that some not so loving accusations about her doing the deed with teachers for better grades .

Oh and her groupies have both been charged for underage drinking.

After I finished theirs I was having so much fun thought I might as well do Blake's too. He's gotten in quite a few fights at school and his dad was arrested, it doesn't say why though? I wonder if Blake will follow in his fathers footsteps?

I used to think being a spy was hard but compared to be being a teenage girl, spying was nothing. At the academy you were popular because you were kind and an amazing spy, not because everyone feared you. Honestly I had taken out some pretty bad guys but none of them were like Savannah.

I had just had me second encounter with the plastics. I would like to say that I had taught them a lesson and that for once Savannah was speechless. But in fact it was the exact opposite, Savannah had some pretty rude things to say about my hair, clothes, makeup, and my nails. Normally I would have had a come back for her comment but it took me by surprise. Like I said at the academy no one cared what you looked like just who you were, High school was nothing like that.

Lunch wasn't much better. I had to watch Savannah put her hands all over Blake and call him Blakeypoo, It was disgusting. Sidney seemed to noticed my disgust

"Get used to that, she calls him that all the time." Referring to his horrid nickname

"I can't believe he lets her." And it's true I couldn't, Blake was a nice guy but I don't know anyone that nice...

"Are you kidding me? Any guy would kill to have Savannah call them that."
I looked away from the "happy" couple and saw a face I didn't recognize.

"I'm Jacob Gilbert by the way"

"Nice to meet you I'm Opal" a gave him a warm smile, he seemed like a pretty nice guy

"Wow! Your smile is beautiful! Savannah has got some competition!"
Was he flirting with me? Already?

"Jacob's says stuff like that all the time, don't worry he's not flirting"
Sidney said seeming to have read my mind

"I'm running for student council! And my campaign is that every student at this school needs at least a compliment a day to keep the troubles away! Well except for Savannah of course.."
That comment earned a laugh from Sidney and I.

This was starting to feel more like the academy. Laughing about common enemies. Although this enemy was a student, at the academy it was usually enemies who had killed an innocent.

When the day was over I was actually pretty excited to tutor Blake. He was really interesting and surprised me every time we talked. Given that wasn't very often but I had to give him credit, it wasn't easy to surprise a spy.

I walked over to our usual table in the back corner. I got there before him, I took the time to download a few apps Sidney always talked about. I had contacted the academy to let them know I was going to need followers on Instagram and Twitter and a few other apps. When I opened my phone I was happy to see that the academy had already done what I'd asked. I looked on my Instagram page and saw a bunch of photos I had never seen before, I had never even known that they'd been taken.
There were pictures of me on the beach in Hawaii when the academy took us on a trip there to study explosives. I had a few scenery pictures that I had taken on missions we'd been sent on but that was about it. Not a single selfie or picture with any of my friends from the academy. But I guess that made sense they couldn't risk exposing their identities to make me happy and selfies weren't really my thing anyways.
I checked Twitter, seeing that "I" had tweeted a few funny, clever little things but not so much where it looked like I had no life.

Out of the corner of my eye I could see Blake approaching. I quickly put my phone down and flipped to the page we would be working on today. I would have to check the other apps out later.

"How dumb do you think I am?"

"Well..."

"Actually don't answer that...The point is I'm smart enough to know that you were on your phone then switched to the book when you saw me coming" the cocked his eyebrows up.

"Don't question my authority! I'm your ticket to an A and the reason you're still on the team!"

"Thanks for that, I mean agreeing to tutor me."

"Don't worry about it."

"But I am. Football is the only thing I'm good at, it's the only chance I have at going to college."

"Blake shut up. I've never seen you play but I know that it's not the only thing you're good at."

"Which brings me to my next point. You've never seen me play and I'm the star player so we have to change that. which is why I want you to come to my next game."
And with that he grabbed my phone (which unfortunately didn't have a password yet) and put his number in. Then took out his phone and had me put my number in.
"This way you can tell me where you're sitting when you come to my game." He explained

"What makes you so sure I'm coming?"

"Because you are curious, you want to know more about me. I can see it. It's killing you not knowing who I am."

"You'd be surprised how much I know."

"You may know my grades but you don't know who I am as a person."

"I think I have a pretty good idea."

******
We finished the page I had originally planned to do and did a few extra pages as well. We did quite a bit considering the talk we had at the beginning. At 4:30 we were finished for the day and I started packing up.
"So I'll see you at the game."

"Blake I'm not one of those girls who goes to some guys game with a sign and cheers out his name and cry's when he scores the wining touchdown"

"Good, because I don't want you to be." He got up and walked away
