"Quinn, it's official. YOU are now my new best friend," Mayanna told me, caressing the bar of chocolate I had given her moments before.
I grinned, tossing the box of Twinklies over to Xander.
"What she said," Xander grinned at the purple box, "And thanks for thinking of me while you were out there. But, I mean, this still doesn't make up for all the birthdays you've missed."
I smiled mischievously as I pulled the Gamerboy out of my duffel bag, "You sure about that?"
His eyes shot up to see the item in my hand.
"You did not--."
"I did."
"Is that a--."
"Yep."
"I can't believe you remembered!" he exclaimed, shooting up from his seat and holding the device in his hands, "Oh my God. Oh my God. QUINN!"
Before I had time to process what was happening, he had wrapped me tightly in his arms, only to withdraw a second later and stare at the decades-old piece of plastic with amazement.
"Did you get any--."
"Games? Yeah," I said, handing him the handful I grabbed. I was relieved when I saw the grin on his face widen.
"YES! These are CLASSICS!" he exclaimed, trying to hold back his chortling. I noticed Mayanna staring at him with a smirk.
"Jesus, how does someone as bangable as you get obsessed with all this nerdy shit?" Mayanna chuckled. That was when Xander stopped staring at his new device.
"Um, I'm sorry, I don't think I uh--, heard you correctly... did you just say I'm bangable?" Xander mumbled.
"Dear Satan, yes! Is that even a question?" Mayanna giggled, "I'm totally into you, just by the way."
There was a pause as Xander and I glanced at each other knowingly.
"What are you looking like that for?" Mayanna grinned at us.
Xander took a deep breath as he looked away.
"Uhm--... Well, Maya, you're super hot and all but uh--, you see, I-I'm... I'm gay."
I observed a devious smirk spread its way across Mayanna's lips, "That can be changed."
There was a noticeable blush appearing on Xander's face as he looked at her with a puzzled expression, "I don't think that's how it works--."
"Are you sure?" Maya smirked, "You wouldn't be the first guy I've turned straight. And it's not like it's that much of a challenge, anyway."
Xander raised his eyebrow playfully, "Really? So you'd be willing to bet on it?"
Mayanna grinned, "I bet my entire bar of sweet, sweet chocolate on it."
"I'll bet my Twinklies."
"Whoa, wait a minute," I asked them, "What are you guys even betting on?"
"That Maya can seduce anyone in this entire camp," Xander said, and Mayanna nodded accordingly with a devilish smile.
"Choose a person, any person," Mayanna told him, "And I'll get them to sleep with me by the time the sun goes down. And please, do make it a challenge. I hate to be bored."
