The tension in the atmosphere grew as Soul made eye contact with her. "It's been a while...partner."
She nodded at his words, "Yeah... I know," She paused and looked at me then back at Soul, "but you're still my weapon right?"
He smiled, "Why of course! You were the one who made me into a death scythe after all." I smiled at the fact that Soul was finally a death scythe thanks to Maka. I looked at Kid and remembered when he gave up symmetry for one day just to make Patty and I death weapons as well. He must've known because he smiled at me.
"Oh it was nothing." Maka blushed and rubbed the back of her head awkwardly.
"So what are you doing here?"
"Oh you know, waiting for a book..."
"Then you're in the wrong place..."
"Soul, this is a theater, I'm obviously here for a movie."
"I knew that... I was being sarcastic." Everyone laughed as he awkwardly smiled.
"What movie are you watching?" I asked Maka curiously.
"The Vampire's Grudge." She replied happily.
Patty's eyes widened, "So are we!"
I looked at them, "W-We are...?"
Maka looked at me and smiled, "You guys didn't tell her it was a horror movie did you?"
"Nope!" replied everyone else in unison.
"You guys are messed up." She laughed and hugged me.
"That's what I've been saying..." I told her as I looked at everyone.
"Movie will start in a while! I'll get popcorn!" Patty beamed as she rushed to the snack bar.
"I'll come with, so you won't get lost." Kid said as he followed her.
Soul shrugged and stayed with us, "So are you staying here in Death City or nah?"
Maka looked at us and sighed, "Well I was hoping to stay but if they give me another opportunity to go, well I'll take it." She laughed.
I smiled at her, "Well I'm just glad we got so see you again, it's been nearly two months."
She frowned, "Yeah... And things haven't changed." Her words were muffled by the crowd.
"What was that?"
"Hm? Oh nothing."
I shrugged at her response, 'She still has feelings towards Soul...' Those words raced through my head as I turned over at Him and looked back at Maka.
"Hey, something wrong?" He asked me with a slight frown, I could tell Maka knew what I was thinking because she jerked back slightly and blushed.
"It's nothing...just th--" My words were caught short by Kid's.
"Patty! Not so fast! You'll drop everything you have! Ugh! Patty!" I turned around to see Patty speed walking towards us, a bright smile on her face, and in her arms? Let's just say... No one was going to be able to finish that.
"I got the food!" She exclaimed happily as she reached us.
"We can tell." Maka giggled.
Kid came from the side, "I got the drinks."
Soul looked over at him and his expression became vacant. "Kid...there are only five of us..."
Kid was about to speak when i interrupted, "Hey! The movie will start, right? Let's go in?" I said nervously trying to avoid Kid's speech about symmetry this, and symmetry that, everyone looked at me surprised, I nervously asked them "What..? Why are you looking at me like that?" A smile spread slowly on both of the guy's face. Just then I recalled the movie we were watching, 'Crap, what did I just say...'
Maka looked at me surprised but she knew why I said it and laughed. "Well then let's go!" Patty giggled as she headed inside the designated room.
"Uhh Patty, I think it's the other room..." Maka pointed out.
"Right! I knew that!" Patty laughed as she got out and headed the opposite way. I sighed and followed along with the rest if the group. Maka stayed behind to talk to Soul and catch up on everything. I didn't mind honestly, I was surprised I wasn't feeling any jealousy. Just then I felt a nudge on my arm as we walked in the room.
"Hey, Maka and Soul look happy seeing each other again."
"Kid, if you're trying to pull something off, it won't work."
"But look... It's as if they've been apart forever!"
"Well it is only natural... She's his Meister. I mean wouldn't you feel lonely if I left and never returned?" I could tell my words struck him.
"Liz... Don't joke like that."
I shrugged and tried looking for Patty.
"We call the front!" Patty yelled.
My heart sank, "Patty... I don't think..."
"The front sounds great!" Everyone else agreed.
'Oh man... I have to get out of this, I can't handle the images so up close...especially a horror movie! They jump out at you!' I coughed, "Umm Patty... How about the back? Where the noise is better?"
Everyone looked at me, "You serious? But the screen wouldn't be the same..."
A voice from the audience called out, "Well actually, I thought the same way but apparently not, the screen in this theater seems the same and the back is the best place to be, just don't mention it because then everyone goes..."
He then sat down in a seat at the front. "Oh great! The back it is!" Patty smiled and rushed to the back seats.
"Wow Liz... I can't believe you're finally getting over your fears..." Maka giggled.
"Oh shush it." I said annoyingly and followed my sister to the back thinking to myself, 'Oh Liz, you dumbass, think before you say anything!' I sighed as Patty chose her seat. I was going to sit next to her but then...
"I'll be in between you two because symmetry." Kid pushed me aside slightly and butted in.
"Wow Kid, really?" He smiled and nodded, "Yes really, now you sit here on my right." He patted the seat next to him.
"Why thank you, you're so kind." I rolled my eyes as Soul came after and sat on the other side of me. Maka took the seat next to him. Moments later the crowd grew quiet.
"Shhh I think it's the credits." Patty said as I let out a sigh while I sat down getting comfortable in the seat and trying to relax.
Soul noticed and he chuckled, "It hasn't even started." I shot him a glance and he simply smiled. Just when the lights dimmed, the sateen flashed on. The security guard had walked along the aisle up towards the doors. Just then someone walked in muttering to themselves.
"Young man, I'll have to ask you to take your seat before the movie starts." The guard said.
"S-Sure." Replied the figure. I don't know why, but his presence seemed familiar to me. He had sat down in front of us and began to mutter to himself again. All I could make out from his words were 'I don't think I can deal with this...' With that I sat up quickly, my voice softly stuttered. "Crona?"
