Chap. 7 : Take It Slow

Arata's POV

I woke up, got ready to go to school and walk my way there. I met up with Tomatsu and Mitsuo as we headed to our classrooms.

"So, what's your plan for today, Arata?" Tomatsu ask, raising a brow with a grin. I look at him then smirk.

"It's a secret," I cross my arms across my chest, grinning to myself.

"Don't get your hopes up though, maybe you'll be rejected again," Mitsuo states. I've thought of it too but I'm sure this will work.

"Don't worry I don't, but it may work," I say as we parted ways to head to our classrooms.

Once I walk in to the class, I saw L/n playing on her phone. Where could her friends be? I thought they always stick together.

I head towards my seat behind her and sat down. I stare at the back of her head as I thought about how soft her hair looked and the urge of touching it was killing me.

I didn't realized she was now turned to me as she looks questionably at me.

"Can I help you?" She ask, getting me out of my trains of thought.

I swear, my cheeks felt warmer but I shake the thought off. "Yes, can you, maybe... Go out on a date with me?" I smirk as I place my elbow on my desk then rest my chin on top of my palm.

L/n shakes her head, "No can do," she responded. I frown.

"By the way, where are your friends?" I ask her, politely. She raise an eyebrow at me then sighs.

"They both needed to run some errands," she says boredly. I nodded in understanding.

"Hmm... L/n," I called her, getting her full attention to me. "Can we... Maybe be friends?" I ask. I think she wasn't expecting that because her reaction was understandable.

"I mean.. If you don't want--,"

"No, it's just... It's weird and so sudden," she says. Wow, how rude. "But... Maybe we can? I don't know," she says.

Didn't think she was this nice of a human being.

Plan B : I need to take it slow.

I smirk, "Okay, so now we're friends? I promise I won't do anything stupid like flirting with you," I raise a hand to promise her.

She sighs and nodded.

I'm actually proud of myself right now. I may have just pushed the right button and this could work for me to get her.
