Chapter 13 - Back 🥀

"This is unfair Kai!", Jessica shouted as her one and only cupcake was snatched from her hand.

"Everything is fair with cupcakes.", Taking a bite of that Kai said.

"I'll present you a cupcake factory this year on your birthday.", Jessica said in sarcasm.

"You'll be blessed then.", He laughed softly. They're slowly walking to the building of their university.

"Umm.", Kai gulped the lump and said, "There's a party in Winn's farmhouse today. Get ready on time."

"I'm not going.", Ashely said.

"What did you say?", Kai asked just to hear that again.

"I'm not coming.", She repeated herself.

"You're coming.", Kai said.

"Kai please I'm already so much tired. My legs are hurting. I just can't even walk anymore.", She said making a sad face.

"Let me help you in this.", They reached near the gate of the building.

"What do you mean?", Ashely asked in confusion.

Kai rubbed his palms then took up Ashley in his arms.

"What are you doing?", Ashley shouted.

"You can't walk right, you don't have to then.", He smiled.

"No. Just put me down.", She clutched his shoulder.

"No!", He nodded a no.

"Please Kai. I'll fall.", Looking down she said.

"You will not.", He started walking.

"No!", Ashley laughed. Jessica was laughing seeing them too.

"I'm fine just put me down.", She said.

"You just told your legs are paining.", He was still smiling.

"No...no I'm absolutely fine.", She looked in his eyes.

"So you're going?", Kai asked.

"I'll think about it.", She pressed her lips.

"Ok.", He again started walking.

"Ok fine I'll go.", She announced.

"Very good.", They both laughed together.

When Jessica said, "Who's this?"
Ashley and Kai both following her gaze and looked at the gate of the building and discovered someone standing there looking straight to them. Ashely looked at him in horror. She was not just expecting him.

The way he was looking at them, it was like he just came to meet them only.

"Yes how can I help you?", Kai asked still holding Ashley in his arms.

"Who are you?", He asked again politely.

"Ask your girlfriend. She knows me better than anyone.", The boy said in complete sarcasm, avoiding Ashley's gaze. Ashely froze, her sweaty palms were there on Kai's shoulder.

"What? No no she's not my girlfriend.", Kai uttered.

"Oh I see.", He grinned.

Ashley couldn't talk or do something, she was blankly looking at the face, the face she was seeing after almost 9 months.

Darshan.

Darshan Raval.

Those brown eyes, messy hairs.
He was looking kind of sick and thin but it was him, only him.

"Ash, who is he?", Kai looked at Ashely.

"Wow, you're calling her Ash too.", Darshan smiled lowering his face.

"It's nice to see you after so long Ashley. And I'm so surprised how you welcomed me after all of this things. So nice from you really. It good to see that you have moved on.", Darshan simply turned around and start leaving.

Yah it's Darshan Raval who overlooked everything. "Is he...", Kai uttered, now he got everything all of a sudden. Kai was a very calm person, he knew how to control his nerves in very hard situation, Darshan didn't.
Kai slowly put Ashley down. But she didn't move a bit from her place, she didn't know what to do.

"Go.", Kai said. Ashley looked at him.

"Go after him.", Kai blinked.
Ashley nodded and ran behind Darshan.

Kai watched her running to join her own love. He crossed his arms and smiled. All the moment of first meeting her flashed in front of his eyes, how she tried to kill herself just because Darshan said he hated her. Yah might be it's the true love. He was happy for her. Finally she would be happy now.

"Is that Darshan? Her ex boyfriend?", Jessica asked from behind.

"Yes.", Kai said.

"I don't think he is good for her.", Jessica said.

Kai frowned.

"After all she tried to kill herself for him.", She said.

"She loves him more than anything else.", He said.

Kai saw Ashley opened the door and entered with a red face, she cried.

"What's wrong?", Kai asked.

"He left.", Ashley uttered.

"Did you talk to him?", He asked.

"I tried. He didn't. He just ignored me, didn't even look at me.", Her voice was really broken.

"He just said...", She said again.

"What?", Kai looked into her teary eyes.

"Good bye Ashley.", She finished her sentence and cracked into tears. Kai hugged her and let her cry silently.

"He...he..sa..id..good...bye.. what would I do now...he...came...back.. but...", Ashley panicked.

"Shhh...shh Ash calm down.", Kai tried to make her stop.

"He...left..just..", she sobbed.

"Trust me Ash, he will come back. He will come back. When a guy truly loves a girl he never leaves her. So he has to come back. ", Kai said in confidence.

Ashley said nothing just kept crying silently.

"I'm so sorry Ash. It happened..", Kai apologized.

"No you did nothing Kai. It's not your fault. He takes everything in wrong way, always.", She broke the hug and looked at him.

"It's just he got jealous. It's normal, if I see my girl with somebody else I would get jealous too. It's because he loves you. He will understand it but and come back.", Kai held her hand.

She tried to smile and a another tear rolled down Kai immediately wiped that off.

"Just don't cry.", He smiled. He hated seeing her crying, it's just reminded him of the first day he met her and he never wanna see her in that condition again. He pulled her into an another hug.
