"Work is boringgggggg." Virgil complained, taking a sip of the coffee he purchased.
"You just clocked in, Kiddo! Plussssss, I wanted to talk!" Patton smiled brightly, taking the scones out of the oven, it was still early enough for the two to prep sweets for the coffee shop.
"Any more boy talk and I'll puke." Patton pouted causing Virgil to sigh. "FIneeeeee, boy talk."
"Yay! Sooooo Romano told me that you and him are going on date dos. That's Spanish for two!" Virgil nodded. "That's adorable!! I'm happy Roman found a nice guy like you!" Virgil shrugged. "Oh, you should kiss him!!" Virgil spits his coffee out, placing it on the counter as he got the spray to clean it up.
"Why would you say that?"
"Well, Logan kissed me and I-"
"Look, you've and Logan knew each other for longer, but...if Roman tries to...y'know, then I'll...kisshim," Virgil said quickly, looking at Patton. "And that does not mean to go and convince Roman to kiss me, understand?" Patton pouted and nodded before smiling and looking at the door.
"Emile and your friend are here, let me go finish the cookies!" Patton ran off, leaving Virgil to take orders as Remy and Emile walked in. Emile being an energetic yet smart teen, surprisingly shorter then Remy, he had big glasses that matched Patton's and a sweater vest that actually looked good on him. Remy was smiling as he walked in with Emile and Virgil took pride in knowing that he helped Remy meet Emile, even if nothing happens between the two it's nice to see Remy happy.
"Vee, gurl, how are you?" Remy greeted, giving a small two finger salute.
"Stressed, depressed, yet I am trying my best. You?" Virgil got a cup out for Remy, writing Remy's name on it quickly and going to make the coffee that Remy usually orders, still listening to the two.
"I'm amazing, Dee called me last night an-"
"I know."
"Oh?" Remy rose an eyebrow as Virgil turned back around, handing him the coffee.
"Same as usual, Emile?"
"Yup!" Emile chirped, popping the P on the word. Virgil nodded, going to make the hot chocolate as Patton came back in, getting a cookie for Emile and putting it on a small plate.
The two paid and went to sit in the corner, Virgil watched for a moment as Emile took out his laptop, covered in cartoon-themed stickers, and started talking quietly and excitedly to Remy. Remy would occasionally nod or say something back, it was a cute sight.
The weekend honestly couldn't come fast enough in Virgil's eyes. But, eventually it did come and Virgil was really happy when he saw Roman at the park, looking almost nervous as he searched for Virgil, who was still happily swaddled in the letterman jacket of Roman's.
"Hey, Ro." Virgil smiled, happily waving at Roman who grinned waving back.
"Hello, my emo knight."
"Barf, that nickname's gross, we both know I'm a Prince, not a Knight." Roman and Virgil both chuckled.
"Very true, shall we walk?" Virgil nodded starting to walk besides Roman, the two chatting for a while.
"Virgil, I know you don't enjoy physical contact, but uh, is it alright if uh...Hold your hand?" It's an awkward question to ask, simple signs of affection such as holding hands Roman usually just...did, without asking but he was afraid of scaring Virgil off, he's never liked a dude this much before...it was scary.
"God, you're such a dork, Roman." Virgil smiled, slowly entwining his fingers with Roman's, resting his head on Roman's shoulder. "You're a pretty cool dork, though." Roman sighed, relaxing a bit.
"Why thank you, my dear." Roman smiled, enjoying the rest of the walk.
After a while they stopped, sitting on a bench, the crisp nighttime air chilling them both, causing them to sit even closer together. "Disney is SO messed up, Ro! LIke 'Oh just let me kiss a sleeping girl!"
"It's a magical love story!" Virgil shook his head, looking at Roman.
"Of course you would think that, Prince Charmless." Roman made an offended noise.
"You just don't know what true love's kiss is like! You don't appreciate Disney!"
"Well, maybe you should show me." Virgil paused, realizing what he said. "I mean uh."
"You want me to...show you true love's kiss? LIke, kiss you?" Roman seemed shocked, but didn't argue, leaning in a little bit.
"Duh, Aren't you the college student here? Didn't think I'd have to spell it out for you." Despite Virgil's face burning, he encouraged Roman, wishing for the kiss the more he thought about it.
Roman leaned in, cupping Virgil's face gently, pulling the smaller boy closer as they kissed, Virgil melting into the touch, one arm around Roman's neck pulling him closer, the other clutched Roman's shirt, keeping him there. After a minute Roman pulled away, resting his forehead against Virgil's. "How was that?"
Virgil shrugged, grinning a bit. "I think I need another one, to see if it's as good as the first." He kissed Roman again, this kiss just as sweet and soft as the first, after another minute they pulled away, Virgil resting his head on Roman's chest.
"So...are we like offical now?" Roman questioned, quietly not wanting to disturb the peace.
"I mean...if you want to be." Virgil said, closing his eyes as he relaxed more into Roman's chest.
"I do, I really do."
"Then we're dating now." Virgil yawned. "And I'm tired."
"Am I really that boring that you fall asleep at the end of every date?" Roman fake pouted, standing up to walk Virgil home.
"Or maybe you're just the most exciting thing to happen in my life for a while, you tire me out." Virgil smiled, walking home holding his new boyfriend's hand.
