Virgil didn't want to think less of his prince. He didn't think Roman would cheat on him or leave him.
But damn, Remus had a way with words that made them sink into his skull.
It got worse when the next week Roman started being really secretive.
"Who you texting, babe? You haven't looked up from your phone the whole time you've been over." Virgil said, keeping his voice in an 'I couldn't care less' tone, even though he cared, a lot.
"Noone!" Roman put his phone away, kissing Virgil's forehead. "Noone you should worry about, darling." Virgil frowned a bit but nodded, cuddling into Roman's chest.
The next day, Roman canceled the date the two had planned, stating that he was simply overworked with Finals around the corner. Virgil tried to be understanding, assuring Roman that it was fine, they could reschedule. He felt bad for doubting Roman's love, he felt worse when he realized that Roman probably didn't even love him, why would he anyway?
A few days later, it was Virgil's birthday, he wasn't excited, he told Remy and Dee that he was sick, forcing them to leave him alone. Unfourtanly, the same lie didn't work on Roman. Who knocked on the door before letting himself in. "Darling, dearest, your prince has arrived~" He saw Virgil on the couch and smiled. "AND I have a huge surprise, it's actually the reason I've been so busy." Virgil's eyes widened.
He's gonna break up with me and he's so excited over it
Was Virgil's first thought, but once Roman sat down, setting a small perfectly wrapped box on the table and wrapping his arm around Virgil, he grew confused.
"But first, Remy told me about you being 'sick' You obviously aren't, so what's the deal?" Roman's voice held obvious concern.
"Remus talked to me, he told me stuff and...I let it get to me, I believed him. And then you got all secretive and-" Virgil whined, burying his face in Roman's shoulder. Roman sighed, rubbing Virgil's back.
"Darling, you should know, never listen to my brother. " Virgil whined, nodding. "I was planning you a party, love. Not cheating, why would I cheat on you? You're perfect."
"you planned me a party?" Roman giggled excitedly and nodded.
"Go get ready and see for yourself!!" Virgil giggled a bit, running off to get ready.
After a few minutes, Virgil came back, wearing a purple button-up shirt with Roman's letterman jacket over it. His usual ripped jeans and converse going with the outfit. His purple hair fixed a lot nicer than usual, you could see his eyebrows for once, revealing an eyebrow piercing.
"Oh! Hold on!" Roman picked up the wrapped box, handing it to Virgil, "Open it!" Virgil slowly opened the black wrapping paper, revealing a long, velvet box. He rose an eyebrow, Roman only giggling excitedly as he urged Virgil to open it. He picked the velvet box up, opening it to reveal a long dainty golden chain, a small rose charm decorated with tiny amethyst stones.
"this is gorgeous, Roman," Virgil said, smiling up at him. Roman smiled, pulling a charm out of his white collared shirt, it was a necklace identical to Virgil's, but with ruby stones instead of Amethyst.
"They were my grandparent's, my grandpa, he said to give it to the person who makes my life complete." Roman kissed Virgil, a kiss full of love. "And that person is you, Virgil." Virgil couldn't help but smile brightly.
"You're such a dork." Roman laughed.
"Whatever, now, to your party!" He helped Virgil put on the necklace, bringing him to the party.
A gay club called 'Midnight' Was where Roman planned the party, which was really just them drinking and eating cake. Virgil kissed Roman's cheek a million times in the car, overly excited, before running in with Roman.
Virgil was instantly greeted by Patton, who looked lovely in a light blue skirt and a white button up, he smiled at Virgil, hugging him and wishing his 'kiddo' Happy birthday, before taking a black and purple bracelet off his wrist and handing it to Virgil, a friendship bracelet.
He ran into Logan, who seemed to be having a serious conversation with Dee. Who looked bored and tired, dressed in a yellow hoodie and skinny jeans. He gave Virgil a small smile. "Yeah, I didn't get you a gift cause I'm a poor college kid, I'll promise to be your friend for at least another week though." He teased, Virgil rolled his eyes.
"I don't want that gift. Take it back." The two laughed, before Virgil waved at Logan, the two having a conversation in which Virgil had his first drink of the night to prove that he could handle strong liquor, he couldn't, and immediately asked for a different drink, this one colorful and fruity.
"BirthDDAY BITCHHHH!" Remy hugged Virgil from behind. "Motherfucker! You're older than me by two years for three months!!" Remy compained. "I'm not even allowed to drink!"
"How did you get into the bar?"
"Fake ID, I don't feel like drinking though, gotta have a sober driver- aLSO BITCH LOOK-" Remy had obviously drunk more caffeine than usual, he took two tickets out of his pocket for a Panic! At The Disco concert. "Have fun with Ro." He winked before running off.
"Speaking of..." Virgil found Roman quickly, grabbing his sleeve and pulling him close, kissing him deeply. "Don't drink, I'm gonna get drunk so you gotta drive." Roman blinked, taken aback by the kiss.
"Next time we gotta find someone else to drive!" He complained.
Several hours (And shots) later, Virgil was a giggling, drunk mess as Roman dragged him inside to the apartment. "Ro- Ro, kisss me." Virgil giggled, plopping on the couch and pulling Roman down over him.
"You have gross alcohol breath, sleep." Roman laid down, wrapping an arm around Virgil. "Goodnight, love."
"G'night, hottie," Virgil muttered, curling into Romans' chest and falling asleep.
