Peters POV

All throughout the day, me and Wade talk. This is the fastest I've became this close to someone. During lunch, I decided to sit with Wade, rather than the usual, Ned and MJ. I could tell Ned was giving me looks all day.

During last hour, I pulled out my phone and texted Tony, so he could pick me up on time. Being the overprotective person he is, I would expect him to reply within a maximum of five minutes. Instead, I get no text reply from him and any of the other avengers.

The bell rang and we all rushed out of school. Half the school went to the busses and the rest went to their cars or pick up. I sat on a metal bench in between the double doors. As the crowd calmed down, the more stares I got. A random freshman left school later and just stared at me his whole way out.

It's now 4:27 and I was supposed to home an hour and a half ago. A few teachers came in, asking if I had a ride and of course I said yes. My phone was almost dead, and I just wanted to go home.

With 3% remaining, I scroll through my contacts to the very bottom. Wade. I call him, hoping he will pick up.

"Hey." He greets in that calm voice of his. There was no pain or stress behind it. Just peace.

"Uh, do you have a car?" I squeak out. I clear my throat and repeat myself.

"Yeah? Are you okay?" He sounds concerned.

"Well, no one really picked me up. I wasn't just going to walk home, the tower is way to far away. Everyone forgot about me, I just need a ride that's all." My throat burns from holding in tears. I wipe my face and sniffle.

"Of course, Peter. I'll be there soon." I was going to say goodbye, but my phone died.

Wades POV

"Of course, Peter. I'll be there soon." I say and he hangs up right away. I find my keys and drive away in my old car. It was my moms, before she died. Since Dad threw away everything of hers in a drunk fit, this is the last I have of her.

I arrive at the school and Peter slowly walks out the doors. He wipes his face, which is red. He's been crying. I unlock the car and kinda just slumps in.

We don't say anything for a few minutes. He keeps sniffing his nose and wiping his eyes. I want to say something, but I don't know what.

"I don't get how they could forget about me." He whispers while we are stopped at a red light. I look over at him, his hair is messy and he's focused on something outside.

"Well, you live with the Avengers. Maybe they're on a mission?" I suggest. I don't know how to help with this kind of stuff. I'm supportive up until a point, and I've passed that a while ago.

"But- but they would've told me." He looks over at me and has more tears in his eyes. I can tell this is about something else. Maybe his aunt. Maybe whoever's taking care of him. It's more than someone forgetting to pick him up.

He begins to sob quietly. He shoves his face into the sleeves of the red hoodies he's wearing. I take a detour and find a parking lot to stop in. He doesn't seem to notice, though.

He's shaking, and when he looks up, he looks miserable. I unbuckle and open my arm. He looks at it, and tucks himself away in the small corner of the car.

Peters POV

Wade spreads his arm out, I know what he's doing. He's obviously caring about me, and I respect that. But I don't really want a hug. I just stare at his arm, and scoot a little farther away from him.

"Oh, I'm sorry." He says, and I can tell he's really sincere.

"It's fine. It's not your fault." I wipe my face and pull out the water bottle in my backpack. I drink a little water, breathe, and put it away.

"Is there something you'd like? Food? Uh, I don't know-"

"I'd like to go home." I blurt. He looks a little surprised and starts the car. I tuck my legs in and draw invisible doodles on my leg with my finger. It calms me. I can see Wade look at me a few times, probably concerned, or scared. Or both.

When we reach the tower, he apologizes for some reason.

"I feel like I should say sorry."

"I'm sorry. I made the situation uncomfortable for you. Thank you for picking me up though." He smiles, but it isn't the same smile from before. It's fake, there is so glow behind it. I get out of the car and head towards the tall building.
