After months of working with L on the Kira case, Light had deducted that L was a royal pain in his ass. They bickered about any and every alternative to one another's theories. It was making it all the more difficult for Light to befriend the raven-haired male. It also didn't help that every time the man glanced at him, Light would have to hide a blush. Why was he acting like this? Feeling like this? He liked women... didn't he?

Light had contemplated his sexuality before, but had pushed it aside rather quickly. He was the perfect son, perfect athlete, and perfect model of a normal citizen. His father told of his opinions quite clearly, and as his families culture, they all had to obey. Besides, with the need and strive of creating a new world, Light didn't have time for trivial things such as love, or deciding whether he was gay or straight. It didn't matter in the end. All that mattered was the rebirth of the world as he knew it. Still, he was also human. Though no matter how hard Light tried, the question and curiosity still nagged at him. He sighed, no longer able to focus on the files on his computer screen. Light got up, stretching slightly as he did so.

"Leaving so soon?" L queried, glancing at the younger male.

"Just to rest my eyes..." Light muttered under his breath. Honestly, wasn't it bad enough he had to be watched at home, now he had to be monitored at work?

"Hold it." L stated a bit sharper than his earlier tone. Before Light could react, Watari had come by his side and placed a handcuff on his wrist. Light allowed his eyes to follow the long chain to the other side, seeing what he was chained to... or in this case whom.

Light tried not to roll his eyes as L came into his eyesight. Of all the things to piss him off...

"You're still under suspicion of being the real Kira. And, since your little girlfriend doesn't seem to know anything about Kira anymore, I've taken it upon myself to keep you under personal surveillance until my suspicions are either proven correct or wrong." L explained.

"You can't be serious." Light stated coolly, allowing a sly smirk to appear across his lips. He noticed the Raven slightly stare. Had he only imagined it?

"Oh, but I am serious." L informed. Light allowed his eyes to roll for once.

"I'm not Kira." Light stated flatly.

"Then you should have no trouble in proving so while connected to me." L returned. With a sigh of annoyance, Light left the room, L in close tow.

This was going to be a long week...
