Yeah, so, like, I actually have something pretty inspiring happen today. Last day of school, clitché, right?

Anyways-

Acorn had lost her jacket, and I went to my school's police officer, in which I shall not enclose her name, and she searched the cameras for the day it went missing. We started a convo, and I told her about me being gay, and after a few mintues, she actually pointed to a photo, and told me that a woman in that photo was who she was married to.

It was just

So inspiring.

What people (probably) least expect a gay person to do, go out and make an amazing person of themselves.

Shit has happened this year, fights, missing items, etc, but throughout, she's done her job. And that I appreciate. Many students have grown to like her, and I had trouble with that, as I never really spoke to her. But every day we saw eachother in the halls, we would greet each other.

Afterwards, she told me something, but I don't remember it word for word.

She said to basically be myself. To do what I wish to do, and don't let who I am hold me back. Be who I am, Payton, a shy, gay, yet friendly young girl.

I wanted to share this with all of you. I know it isn't everyone, but some of us in the LGBTQ+ community feel like our sexuality/difference will hold us back. I thought this story could help show you that not everyone gets held back for a minor difference that changes pretty much nothing (to some).

Please, do what my Officer had told me, and be yourself, and don't let anything hold you back.
