*a couple weeks later*

Today is Monday which means I, sadly, have to go to school. The first thing I do when I get up is take a shower and fix my hair into its usual ponytail. Once my uniform is on, I head downstairs.

As I'm walking into the kitchen, Jamie yells down the stairs. "Y/N, do you want a ride to school? I don't have to work until ten."

Shrugging my shoulders I yell back, "Sure." I continue my quest for food and soon end up with a bowl of oatmeal. "This will do." I think to myself as I sit down at the table.
Slowly, I eat my oatmeal. "I don't have to leave as early today since Jamie is taking me." I think to myself as I start to space off. This time, I don't stop eating and so, before i know it, I've eaten all of my oatmeal.

Quickly putting my bowl in the sink, I head back up to my room. I move my backpack by the door and sit down on my bed.

As soon as I sit down, I get a text from Laurance; I gave him my number a couple days ago.

Laur: you walking today??
N/N: no. Jamie is giving me a ride, why?
Laur: no reason
Laur: you walking home?
N/N: yeah
Laur: ok c ya at school
N/N: see ya

"That was weird." I think to myself. "You ready to go?" Jamie asks from my doorway. "Yeah." I answer, getting up off my bed and grabbing my bag.

As we are walking to his car, Jamie asks, "Who were you talking to?" He nudges my arm with elbow. "What are you talking about?" I ask, pretending to be innocent.

"Oh, come on. I know you were texting someone." He states. "Who was it?" I shrug my shoulders and he slaps my arm. "Ow."

"Come on. Tell me."

"Fine." I give in. "It was Laurance." Once those words leave my mouth, Jamie starts to act like a teenage girl. "What did you guys talk about?" He asks. "Nope. Not doing this." I say as I start to put in my earbuds. "If I knew this was gonna happen, I would've walked." I hear Jamie laugh as I play my music.

~Time Skip to After School~

The bell rings, signifying the end of the school day. "Finally." I think to myself as I leave the classroom.

I get my bag from my locker and head to the front of the school. As I walk out the front doors, I see Laurance standing by the fountain.

"Hey. How was your day?" Laurance says, starting our daily conversation of "I'm good" or "I got a lot of homework tonight" and so on.

After that is out of the way, I sense Laurance start to get more anxious.  "What's on your mind?" I ask, hoping to help him relax. "There's this super important question I need to ask someone, I'm just nervous about how they'll respond." He confides. "I'm sorry to hear that." I tell him sympathetically. "What do you have to ask that is getting you this nervous?"

"I want to ask this girl I like out on a date."

"Well that girl would be a fool to say no to you."

"You really think so?" He asks, rubbing the back of his neck. "Duh." I joke. "Why else would I say that?"

We walk in silence for a few moments before Laurance just stops walking. "What are you doing?" I ask, turning around to look at him. "Asking the girl I like out." I give him a confused look, not totally grasping what was happening.

"Y/N? Will you go on a date with me?" My jaw dropped. "How could I be so oblivious?" I think to myself. "Well.... Am I a fool?" I ask him.

"No." He tells me with the same confused look I wore only moments ago. "Then you just answered your own question." I tell him.

"Wait." Now it is his turn to be speechless. "Really?"

"Why would I say that if I didn't like you?" I ask him. "Because I don't exactly understand you somethings." He answers. "Rude." I tell him, playfully punching his arm.

"So," I continue. "Where are you taking me?" He just shrugs and we continue our walk back to our houses.

I really enjoyed writing this part and I hope you guys enjoyed reading it. I am going to be in an honor program for art for the next two weeks so I have no idea when I'll be able to write again. I'm hoping to write a few more chapters before I go so I'll be able to update during the next two weeks.
