Laurance has started to feel better since last Friday. He didn't come to school Monday, still upset I guess, but he did come back on Tuesday... Which is today.

"How are you doing today?" I ask as we walk into the school. I just told everyone that he was sick because that's what I thought so nobody questions his absence. "I'm fine, Y/N." he says but I know it's a lie. "Will you at least tell me later what's bothering you?" I ask.

"You'll know what's up with me on Saturday." Laurance tells me. "Does that work for you?"

"I guess."

Laurance smiles which instantly makes my day better. We go our separate ways and I start to wonder what he's not telling me.

~Time Skip to Saturday~

I wake up to my mom yelling for me from downstairs. "What!" I shout as I leave my room. "There's something here for you." she answers. "What? I didn't order anything." I think to myself as I walk down the stairs to where mom is.

Behind her on the table is a bouquet of flowers. "You sure they're not for you?" I ask with a smile on my face. She gives me a crazy look and asks, "Who would be giving me flowers. Jamie? It was definitely not you." This just makes me laugh as she shakes her head at me.

"I'm sure that they're for you, Sweetie."

I walk over to the bouquet and see that there is a card with my name on it. "This is how she knew it was for me." I think to myself. "Maybe this is what Laurance wouldn't tell me about on Tuesday."

Opening the card I see why he didn't tell me. Without even reading what he wrote I know what he's asking me. Still, I want to read it. My mom walks away as soon as I start to read it. "Dear Y/N,
Oh, how your smile can light up a room! Your laugh is like seeing the Sun after a dark storm, Your heart is so pure and and your skin is smooth as silk. Um, not that I actually know how your skin feels, that's just how it looks... Okay, moving on. You voice is like choirs of angels in my ears at all times of day. Your eyes are so full of happiness and that happiness radiates off of you in waves that make everyone else happy too! I dream of us at night, holding hands, dancing, in love. So, the point I'm trying to get across with all of this is... Will you go to prom with me?
                XOXOX,
                  Laurance"

By the time I am done reading it I am almost in tears. I walk out the door with the card still in my hand and run over to Laurance's house. Without even knocking, I walk inside to find him sitting on the couch. Alarmed, he looks at me and sees the card in my hand. "Did you like the flowers?" Laurance asks walking over to me. "I loved them." I answer with a giant smile.

"That's good." He says with a laugh. "I worked very hard to get them to you without you seeing me."

"You actually delivered them?" I say completely shocked. Putting his hands on his hips, Laurance nods proudly. "Ok." I start. "To answer your question, yes I will go to prom with you."

"Oh good." He says wiping fake sweat off his forehead. "That's what I was hoping you were gonna say."

"You're silly." I tell him as we both start to laugh. "Now I can't wait for April."
