3 years ago - Ami's POV
A month before my 15th birthday I was finally adopted living back with the Michael's, I would spend 2 weekends out of the month and 2 months during the summer with the Foss's. My name was legally changed to Amilia Lynn Michael's.
"I'll be back to visit and then in a few years I'll come back for you" Lex whispered as we hugged. He was on his way to NYC to do his training to become a doctor. "Be good and take care of yourself." He said and left.
'Nowish'
It's been over a year since I've seen Lex he hadn't come home for Christmas or New year's. I was 19 in my senior year of high school raising 3 kids on my own. Zoey the oldest by quite a few months, she's 4 going on 5 in 2 months, Miguel he's Matt's son, my stepson, he's 3 going on 4 and then there's Gary, my youngest well Matt's and my youngest. He 1 going on 2 in just a few days. Matt and I married when I was 17 and by 18 he was arrested for abusing me and nearly killing Migual. I filed for divorce and a restraining order soon after. I had full custody of all 3 kids. I started drinking and doing drugs, while the kids were at their grandparents, and even while they were in home in bed. I had a different one night stand pretty much everyday, for the past 3 months, I made sure to do that during my free period in school, I never took a guy home with me unless none of the kids would be home. I weighed maybe 100 pounds at the most and I did even more cutting now then I did a few years ago. I was just barely hanging on to life and just barely passing school.
