3 : A knock in the night

Nelly's P.O.V

I woke up in the middle of the night. I had to go to the bathroom. The bathrooms were outside. I hoped out of bed and put my shoes on. I don't want my feet getting hurt. I open the door and grab my keys. I walk out quietly, hopefully not waking anyone. I get. To the stair and I hear footsteps behind me. I shrug it off, then walk down the stairs. I make it to the bathrooms and go back inside and walk up the stairs. I saw someone at the top but couldn't identify them. The out of nowhere, the person pushed me back. I was about 8 stairs up to the top. All stairs to the top are 10. I fall backwards and scream. As soon as I hit the ground, everything went black.

Amelia P.O.V 

I jump out of bed because I heard what sounded like a person fall down the stairs, Which can be deadly. I have heard before I got here there were people who died from the fall down. I run to the stairs and see Nelly laying still on the ground. "Oh my lord!" I scream and race down the stairs and drop to her side. "Nelly please wake up." I tell Nelly. Nelly's pretty brown hair shimmers in the moonlight. I looked at her face to see if she is still breathing. Yes, yes she is breathing. I sigh as i get up and run to the doctor's house.

Doctor's P.O.V

I hear a knock at my door. The time was about 6:50 in the morning. I was doing my usual, working on papers and other stuff. I walk to the door to see a worried looking Amelia. "Good morning Ame-" I was cut off mid sentence. "LUCY, YOU HAVE TO HELP PLEASE!" Amelia yelled to me. "What happened?" I ask as she is clutching my arm. "The new girl she.....she fell down the stairs!" She shouted at me. I soon ran to get my doctor supplies and race to the Inn. I saw her lying on the ground. She must have hit her head to hard. I thought and helped Amelia take her to my Office room.

Nelly's P.O.V

I wake up to see Amelia standing there. Her eyes are closed, so I don't wake her. My head starts to pound and I groan at the pain. I look to the side of the room and see someone who looks like a doctor. Soon she notices me and walks over and hands me bark. " What is this?" I ask her. "Willow tree bark, for the head ache." she told me and I started to chew on it and it helped. I soon asked for a cup of water. "What happened this mornin'?" A voice that i recognised said. "Someone pushed me down the stairs, sir." I said telling the truth. "I believe that's a lie." Houston spoke. "What? No I'm-" he cut me off. "I DON'T TRUST YOU. YOU JUST GOT TO TOWN AND ALMOST GOT MURDERED?"he yelled at me. It sounds odd but I was telling the truth. "Houston don't shout! Her head will hurt worse." The doctor told him. "Sorry Lucy, i just don't trust her." He said as he left. There was a silence after that. "Ruth is the major suspect." Amelia spoke to break the silence. "She would never hurt anyone." Amelia said. "Me and her have always been close. Till one day she left me for some new friends that aren't nice." Amelia told me her friendship with Ruth. I got up to go out and waved goodbye.
