5: Execution is fun

The time had come and I was standing in my jail cell waiting for my time. I had sent a letter back to New Jersey for my sister and mom. They will be devastated when they hear about what happened. Soon Amelia comes in with a white dress and a hair bow. "Ruth.... I know you are innocent..." Amelia spoke in a sad tone. "Amelia I am happy you believe me. Thank you for being my friend also... My time has come sadly but if this is a attempted murder just please stay safe." I say to my best friend of 14 years. "Ok.." Amelia says as she hands me the dress. " You need to change and Houston will take you out to the square for your execution.." Amelia says as she cries. Then she leaves before saying "Goodbye Ruth may the world remember how good of a friend you were.." Amelia says then leaves.

Houston and I are walking in silence...an awkward silence. I mean what do you have to say to the person who convicted you for murder. Soon we make it to the hanging area and I just stand there waiting. Soon it starts people gather around the podium and stare. I spot some familiar faces like Stella and Etta my first friends. They stabbed me in the back 2 years ago that's why I don't talk to them anymore. I see Seth talking to that weird guy from the bar. Seth was a good friend of mine. I see everyone in the town but I didn't see Amelia...I knew she wouldn't come. Who would come to their best friends death ceremony. I remember the first time we met, I was new to the town and bumped into her. She was so kind she helped me up and Lead me to her house. She gave me some tea and led me to the extra bedroom. She let me stay there for about 3 months. She inspired me to open my Inn. I can't thank her enough for everything she has done for me. I can imagine her crying in her room clutching her blankets. She will be so sad for the next few months. She used to come to my Inn every morning to give me some breakfast. At least she has Hank to talk to her everyday and keep her company. I know Stella and Etta won't care about my death, they have never cared about me and never will.

Soon Hudson starts to speak. " today we will be executing a fellow citizen of the town. She is a monster, she tried to kill a guest at her Inn. Her name is Ruth Davis." When he finishes I start to hear the crowd yell. They say horrible things and yell at me for the things I did not do. I would never harm a guest at my Inn. Why would I ever she was such a nice lady to me she did not deserve the hurt she got neither do I. Hudson grabs me by the shoulder drags me over to the Noose. He starts to say stuff but my mind goes blank I can't hear a single word he is saying. I can't think of what to do I can't run and I can't cry. I put my head in the noose and I begin to mumble my last words." Speak louder we cannot hear you!" Someone says in the crowd." I did not do it, I did not try to kill the innocent girl!" I scream and then when I am done I feel a tug at my neck and everything goes black. I can't feel anything, I can't hear anything, then I see a bright light. I guess this is where my story ends. Hopefully somebody out there will find the Killer and hang them.
