Nelly's pov

3 weeks later

After the execution I started to work at Ruth's Inn, which was fun. I was making money but not a lot so I couldn't buy a house then I moved in to Ruth's old room. Ruth's old room was big with a balcony. The room had a desk that was stationed on the left of the room and The bed was on the right. The bed was empty because we have sent all of Ruth's things off to her family. I had to decorate the room when I get the money.

"Already feeling at home?" says a voice behind me. "Well yes I am." I say as I turn around to see Jack standing in the doorway. "We might need to work on the room a bit." Jack said with some sheets in his arms. "Thought you might need these to stay warm at night." Jack spoke as he handed me the sheets. "Thank you so much." I say to him as I take the sheets and put them on my bed. "Hey do you want to go to the saloon and visit Amelia? She has been really sad ever since..." He trailed off at the end of his sentence while he thought about the execution that took place 3 week ago.  "Yes I would like to go and help her out." I said as we headed out of my room and on our way to Amelia's saloon.

We made it there and found Hank wiping down the bar while Amelia was wiping the free tables down. "Hey Hank and Amelia!!" I said as we walked in. Amelia looked up at me and she looked gone. She eyes were dull and red as if she had been crying all night. She didn't look like the bright and bouncy person I had met when i first arrived. I averted my gaze to Hank who looked same old same old. "I haven't seen you in a long time. I was thinking you had moved out!" He grinned as he walked over to us. " Oh hey darlin' how have you been?" Amelia spoke as she walked over to us. It was clear she was bluffing he attitude because you won't be able to get over a friends death that fast. "Hey you two I have been great and how about you two?" I said to the two of them. "Oh I have been the best I could have been after that..Hank has been a sweetie and been helping me around the saloon!" Amelia smiled and looked at Hank. "Yeah I had nothin' better to do.." He said and then hit Jack's arm. "What have you been doing man!" Hank said to Jack. "Well I have been cleaning my house and helping some friends build a fence." Jack told us. After Jack spoke someone entered the saloon. "Hey Jack!" The person spoke. "Oh hey Seth." Jack said to the person named Seth. "Who is this your friend?" Seth questioned at me. " Hi I'm Nelly or the new girl in town." I told him as he got a look of realization. "Hey you're the girl that almost died!" He said as he pointed at me. "Yes but I'm safe now." I spoke nervously. "Nice to meet you I'm Seth and if you need me I work at the Country Store down the road." He said and pointed to the direction of the store. "Hey Hank, Amelia how are y'all?" He questioned the two of them. "Aw we have been great and you?" Amelia said with a big smile. "How I have been great and my sister gave birth to a little girl last week and I was about to head out to her and visit them." Seth said smiling. "Oh my tell your sister the town said hey and congratulations!!" Amelia said to Seth still smiling bright. The two of them could talk for hours if it wasn't for a customer wanting to order. "My oh my I need to get back to work." Amelia said " Hank thank you so much for the help and see y'all later bye." She continued as she walked to assist the customer. "I think I should go bye everyone" I said and waved goodbye. "Here let me walk you home!" Seth said. "Alrighty!" I said in a fake southern accent.

We started walking off to the Inn and Seth said "its a shame that Ruth got killed. I know she would never do a thing like that." He walked some more. " I don't believe she would do something like that. Plus have murders been big here?" I questioned him. "Nope. I mean maybe the every now and then accidental death but not this big." He said as we made it to the Inn. "Thanks for walking me home. Have a good night." I said as i entered. "Aw man you too." He walked away with a smile. After I went in to the Inn I went to clean the lobby and headed to bed thinking about tommorow.
