'why does the sun have to exist?' i thought to myself as i woke up to a blinding light in my bedroom.
i sat up and grabbed my phone off my bedside table. 11:45 a.m.
i sort of just sat in my bed and stared at my blank tv for ten minutes until i heard a knock on my door.
"are you up sofia?" my dad asked from the other side. "yeah, you can come in," i replied as i lazily got out of bed and went into my closet to look for something to wear to brendan's party later.
"hey, i'm going to a meeting for a new movie. do you need anything before i leave?" my dad asked as he peeked his head through my door and watched me as i pulled my most stylish clothes out of the closet.
"i'm good, thanks though," i walked across my room and held up a black dress in front of my mirror.
"okay, no problem. are you going to brendan's party tonight?" he asked me, eyeing the pile of clothes on my bed.
i laughed. "yeah i am, olivia is gonna come over later and drive us," i responded.
"okay, i'll write him a check when i get back," my dad said as he walked over to me and gave me a hug.
"i'll see you later, okay? i love you," he said to me as he began to leave my room. "love you too dad, drive safe"
after my dad left, i decided to put my outfit deciding on hold and go downstairs to make breakfast. i made waffles then decided to sit in the living room so i could watch something while i ate.
i decided on drake and josh. it was the episode where josh hits oprah with his car. as i laughed at the sight of oprah being thrown from josh's windshield, my phone buzzed and i saw that i had a snapchat from brendan.

sofia dicaprio we sure are! i'm super excited to see you, i feel like it's been forever since we've seen each other

after looking at the rest of my notifications, i turned off my phone and went back upstairs into my room. olivia had texted me saying that she was going to come over a couple hours before the party so we could hang out for a while. i assumed that she was going to be ready when she came to my house, so i decided to finally choose my outfit.
after a couple hours of looking through my clothes, i chose this outfit:
