My feet pounded the ground as they tried to escape the monstrosity that had become my life. My chest screamed for air that I could not provide it with. Thoughts of death swarmed my mind as the breeze swept through my hair.

I jolted awake, looking around at my small room. My room was large enough to hold a twin bed, a dresser, and a small desk. There was hardly any space to walk at all.

"Izuku get your ass up and make breakfast," my mother called. When father left she became ruthless. Bruises marked my skin from her anger.

I didn't mind that she hit me though. It's better that she hit me instead of hurting herself. If she were to hurt herself it would be all my fault.

I made my way to the kitchen and began to make miso shiru for her like I did every morning. It was her favorite, so I didn't stray from it.

A stabbing pain clashed in my back as something smashed against it. Turning around, I saw my mother with a bottle of beer in her hand. She had a sneer plastered on her face.

"Is it almost ready you fucking worthless brat," she growled. I nodded and shoved the foods into their proper containers then put them on a tray and handing it to her.

"Sorry it took so long," I apologized with a bow. She scoffed and hit me upside the head. I walked out of the kitchen and into my bedroom which held my school uniform. I got dressed and headed for the door.

"Get the fuck out," my mom screeched as I walked through the living room to leave. I was out of the door quicker than you cool say Midoriya.

"Oi, Deku, mom kick you out again?" The concerned voice of Kaachan reached my ear.

"No, she was preparing for company so I had to leave a bit sooner," I lied. He nodded and walked next to me.

I hated lying to Kaachan but I had to. He grew concerned if I didn't and I didn't want that. So, I resorted to the suffer in silence method.

"Do you wanna stay at my house today, Deku?" Kaachan asked. Shivers ran down my spine at the name Deku.

Kaachan had give me that nickname when we were kids and he was the only person to ever call me that. When I become a superhero that will be my name for sure.

"I would love to," I responded. He grinned from ear to ear and we continued out walk to school in silence.

"Can you believe that the exams for UA are next week? We've grown up so fast," Kaachan muttered as we entered the school gates.

"Yeah, I hope we both get it," I stated. Kaachan looked at me with disbelief. As if there were anyway one if us wouldn't get in.

"Use your powers and you will score highest ranking," Kaachan smirked. I laughed a little and punched him as a joke.

We both knew I would only use my powers in a dire situation. The likeliness of me using my power for a competition that could get so many other people into the school of their dreams, was not likely. If I don't make it then so be it, someone got into their dream school and that's all that matters.

"You're mumbling again, nerd," Kaachan informed me.

Usually I would start mumbling when my brain was thinking hard. I didn't mean to do it, but it happened. I felt bad for annoying everyone with my strange habit.

"S-sor-ry," I stuttered and looked down. Kaachan shook his head and chuckled in amusement.

School flew by in a flash after first period started. Soon, we were walking back home. Well, to Kaachan's home at least.

"Are you sure your mom won't mind? Do we need to swing by your house to get some stuff? I don't want you to get in trouble," Kaachan questioned.

"No, I will be in trouble if I bother her, so I'm good. Can I borrow some of your clothes? Tommorow is Friday so no uniform which means I need some clothes for that as well as something to sleep in, is that ok?" I asked him.

"Yeah, yeah, it's cool," Kaachan agreed, his face turning red as he said it.

"Kaachan, you're red faced, are you ok?" My mouth moved before my brain could think about it.

"It's nothing," he squeaked. I tilted my head in confusion but let it be.

"Ok," I shrugged. We continued to walk and talk about our days. He had picked a fight with the bad kids and beat the crap out of them. I had gotten punched in the ribs and kicked behind my knees.

"Hello Izuku," Kaachan's mom, Mitsuki Bakugo, greeted. She glared at Kaachan and they started yelling at each other.

I made my way to Kaachan's room while him and his mother screamed vulgar words at each other. They always did that, so I sat on his bed waiting for him to come in his room. Moments later he entered with a frown.

"Mom and dad are going out tonight, so we either have to make dinner or go somewhere," Kaachan informed me.

"I can cook if you want, but I can also pay for dinner. Whatever you want," I replied.

"Do you cook for your mom?" Kaachan asked me.

"Breakfast and dinner, but I will leave her lunch in the fridge," I informed him.

"Ok, well, this jsnt your house so we're going out to eat. I'm paying so don't even offer," Kaachan demanded. I nodded and laid down in his bed.

A shiver ran down my body and I snuggled into his comforter. A small laugh escaped Kaachan's mouth as he threw something at me. Looking down I noticed that it was a hoodie.

"Thanks," I smiled and threw the hoodie over my head.

"Don't mention it, so, what do you want to do?" Kaachan asked me. He was putting both of our bags on the hooks in his room.

"We could go out if you want," I suggested. He nodded and grabbed his wallet of the dresser before leading me out of his house.

"Where to?" He question as he shut the door.
