Alexander's POV
I've had enough, we were back home and I'm determined to tell Brandon everything "Brandon?Kate? Can you both come into the living room please?" I yell out.
Brandon strolls in completely unenthusiastic and plops himself down on the couch, I then see Kate come into the room, I can tell by her face she's mortified but nothing is going to change my mind.
"Brandon, you're old enough now to know the truth about your Mother and I" I tell him calmly but assertively "Let me guess, you're getting a divorce" Brandon says rolling his eyes and crossing his arms.
I chime in before Kate can tell him differently "Yes Brandon, we're divorcing" I say to him straight "Alexander, this isn't fair!" Kate yells "How isn't this fair Kate? Do you still love me? Tell our son how you really feel about me" I say to her, she shakes her head "No, I won't do that to him".
I sigh "Kate, just be honest with Brandon, he deserves to know the truth and you.... you deserve to be happy as well" I watch as Kate's eyes fill up with tears.
I see the confusion written all over Brandon's face, Kate is about to crack and I need her to, I'm not going to live this lie anymore.
"I'm.... I'm.... in love with Susie" she stutters, Brandon suddenly stands up in shock "WHAT!! she's been coming around here for years.... Did you send Dad away because of this?" he yells.
"No-o-o-o... I mean... I don't know... It's complicated" I see Kate panic "Brandon, we had to have space from each other, it's no one's fault, it's just how life turns out sometimes" I tell him, as much as I'm over the bullshit I don't want my son to hate his Mother.
Brandon looks straight into Kate's eyes "You're a liar.... you lied to me for years and kept Dad away from me, I thought he left because of me" my heart breaks hearing those words "That was never true Brandon, I always wanted to be in your life" I tell him trying to hold back my tears.
"I can't deal with this right now" I watch as Brandon grabs his keys, he rushes to the door, Kate yells out to him repeatedly but he keeps walking without looking back as he slams the front door.
"If I've lost my son because of this I will never ever forgive you" Kate lunges over to me pointing her finger in my face, "You did this all on your own Kate, I'll get in touch with our lawyers tomorrow, I want a quick and swift divorce" I tell her as I walk off out of the house as well.
Brandon's POV
I feel like everything I ever thought about my parents was a lie, I always thought Mom was this sweet housewife who waited for her husband to return from work and I thought Dad was this selfish prick who never wanted to be near us, I don't know how I could be so naive, looking back over the years of course Mom and Susie were fooling around, it's so obvious now, I guess back then I would never have thought it was possible.
