Okay. If you've read the previous chapter, then you probably already know what's going on. Now, try looking at the full third-to-last episode of the original Teen Titans series, which is where Robin establishes a communication system for all the honorary titans he and the others have met over the seasons, only for the Brain to eavesdrop on the network and attack all the heroes to freeze them into ice statues.

Afterwards, look at that first tripod scene from Steven Spielberg's take on the H.G. Wells novel, The War of the Worlds, lasting from the moment where Tom Cruise's character arrives at the spot where all those lightning bolts struck to him hiding behind a building after escaping the tripods vaporization of much of the humans in Newark.

Then look at the scene from the first Justice League episode, Secret Origins, Part 1. The scene starting from the first meteor crash to Snaper Carr announcing that more of the Imperial Walkers are arriving by the hour after landing in not just Metropolis in the U.S(North America), but also in Paris, France(Europe), Cairo, Egypt(Africa and the Middle East), and the Malay Archipelago in Oceania/Australasia.

After doing this, say someone builds a communication network for several Microsoft Sams and friends throughout the world, or a multiverse, and someone eavesdrops on everything sometime later after waiting patiently for the right moment to strike.

They strike, and several characters, Toadlover's characters Anna, Sam, and Mary, and even Toadlover himself go missing, nkrs200 and his Sam as well. Many others disappear from being captured by the enemies as no one knows what is going on thanks to how the communication network was designed. Things somewhat go like that Teen Titans episode, and the network is shut off.

Sometime later, following those events, people like CaptainBusiness67, SuperSwirlyTitan198, Charles Davis, and the ones that hadn't disappeared, including Toadlover Sugar, are the only ones left. Strange orbs show up from the sky during the night, and go into several centers of intersections of major cities. If you look back at a couple of chapters, you might get the idea. But now, I'm thinking of these three-dimensional things that are ovals on the side angle, and circular on the top perspective, and is three legged like the tripods.

Instead of vaporization machines, they have sci-fi cannons of sorts that they can use to destroy things in fiery explosions, vaporizing beings as a bi-product if their caught in the explosions. Like in Secret Origins Part 1, there could be some skilled heroes to try to stop them, but to no avail. And there could be a second and a third entity. But they probably wouldn't be the three-legged shapes, but rather these monstrosities that are like the Kaiju-Jaeger Hybrids from Pacific Rim: Uprising. Try thinking of them being different, with not all of them looking like Jaegers.

Several people and characters go into hiding and connect with each other. They try to come up with something. More information in the next chapter.
