THE ONE WITH SOPHIE'S 'SUMMER HOLIDAY' SONG

Scene One

Int. Bing's house;

Late evening, Monica and Chandler are not home. Erica and Jack invited their friends, Emma and Sophie, over. They are sitting on the couch watching telly. A show is in progress. End credits roll on the telly screen.

Emma-(switching off the telly) I'm getting bored. We haven't done anything this entire summer.

Erica+Jack-  We agree.

Sophie- I don't. Because I did. I was at my grandparents' for the last two weeks, and they're so...

Jack- ...old? nice?

Sophie- Better. Rich.

The phone rings. Jack leaps to grab  the phone to answer.

Person- Hello, it's me.

Jack- Hello, me.

Person- Jack, it's Jerry.

Jack- Oh hey, Jerry. Put me on phone. He was the first to say hello. Lemme complete our conversation first.

Jerry- Is anyone older to you around? Mr and Mrs Bing perhaps?

Jack- No but there is someone older to me here.

(Hands the phone to Emma)
Jack- He wants to talk to someone older.

Emma- Hey.

Jack- Emma? Hi.

Emma- Jerry. What's up?

Jerry- Um, nothing much. Can you put the phone on speaker.

Emma- Yeah sure.
Keeps the receiver on the table. Puts the phone on speaker.

Everyone- Hey Jerry.

Jerry- Hey guys. I was busy the whole summer with auditions and meetings with Papa's Hollywood friends.

Erica- Oh that's great Jerry. Congratulations.

Jerry(cont'd)- Thanks. Anyway now I'm on a break. So I was going to spend some time at our Malibu residence. And I want to invite you guys. Hope you don't have any other plans.

Sophie- I don't even have a pla...

Emma- We'd love to come and visit you, Jerry.

Jack- But I don't think Sophie will be able to come.

Jerry+Sophie-(both to Jack) Why?

Jack- Because I don't think her parents will allow her to fly so far from home.

Sophie-(crossing her arms) And you think yours will?

Jerry- Okay. I gotta go. Just lemme know by tomorrow. Okay, bye.(hangs up)

Cut to:

Scene Two

Int. outside a house;

Emma, Erica and Jack, and Sophie are standing outside the door of a house. Emma rings the door bell.
Jerry opens the door to find his friends waiting. He invites them inside.

Jerry- How was the journey?

Jack- Good. I'm a little jetlagged.

Erica- And I gotta pee. (Leaves).

Emma- This place is beautiful.

Jerry- Yeah. We rented it a year ago. Papa is not going to be here for another week. So we have enough time to spend her and have fun.
