Chapter Five

Fade in:

Scene One

Int. Monica's Diner, evening;

Jack and Sophie are at Monica's diner.

Jack- I still can believe you asked me out. And this is our first actual date.

Sophie- Let's order something. Milkshakes?

Jack- Donuts.

Sophie- No. I don't like donuts.

Jack- Okay then order anything you like.

A waiter approaches them at the table. His nametag says Carl.

Waiter- Would you like to place your order now?

Sophie- Two chocolate milkshakes, please. Thank you. 

Jack- Hey, Carl. Is Mom in the kitchen?

Waiter- No. Mrs Bing went to drop Mr Bing at the airport.

Jack- Thanks.

Jack- What do you want to do now? Wanna hang out at my place?

Sophie- Sure. I'd love that.

Dissolve to:

Int. Dawndale Basketball Court, evening;

Emma, and Erica are at a school basketball match. Jerry joins them after the match near the bleachers.

Aaron, Hudson and Mason join them.

Aaron- Oh look. Who we stumbled upon? Emma and her friends.
They burst into laughter.

Emma-(to her friends) Ignore them.

Aaron- Emma. Emma. Emma. The teen model. Aren't you so pretty?

Hudson- Didn't her father collect rocks and stones?

Mason- No dude, dinosaur bones.

Erica- Don't you dare, Mason.

Mason- Or what?

Aaron- Erica. Miss Fiesty Pants. Where that's chubby twin of yours?

Mason- With that blonde girlfriend of his, I suppose.

Emma, Erica and Jerry get up to leave.

Aaron- Leaving so early, Emma?

Jerry- Enough Aaron. Dare you talk to her. 

Emma- Jerry, let's go.

Hudson-(imitating/mimicking) Jerry, let's go.

Jerry-(to Hudson) When I first saw you on the basketball court, I thought perhaps there was a chance of us being friends. But I didn't know you  hang out only with bullies.

Aaron sneers back at Jerry.

Jerry, Emma and Erica leave.

Cut to:

Scene Two

Int. Dawndale Academy's locker room, Saturday afternoon;

The basketball team had an early morning practice. The boys enter the locker room after the practice.

Hudson- Hey, Tribbiani. Can I have a word with you?

Jerry- Sure. What is it?

Hudson- You know, since first day of school, Emma's been ignoring her friends, us. Not you guys.
