I was sitting on the bed in the guest room for about an hour just thinking to myself. We're over. Sofitz is done. At this moment, I can't tell if that's a good thing, or bad thing. All it took was just one huge argument and everything came toppling down. I can hardly even remember what we where fighting about. All I know is that I was making jokes with Keefe, and for some reason he didn't like that.  He said something really rude and we started arguing. Keefe left the room. Fitz said I was ungrateful for having him. I didn't understand why that was a big deal. Maybe he thought I was cheating on him or something. Then he started yelling at me until tears where streaming down my face and he called me weak. Then I told him, "How many times exactly have you said I was the smartest, strongest, brave person you knew? We're also Cognates. Did you forget about that? You have no idea how much pain I've suffered fighting the Neverseen." By then I was yelling. "Think about that. Because until you understand better, we're DONE." And then the rest you know. I ran away crying, Keefe and I were walking through the woods, and yeah.  I kept thinking about if it was the right choice or wrong choice to leave Fitz.

"Hey Sophie," Lihn whispered from the door. Biana was right behind her. "Dinner's ready," she said. "Okay," I replied. I stood up and wiped the tears off my cheeks. "Is there anything we can do?" Lihn asked. I shook my head. "Just keep being awesome friends," They both smiled and we walked down the stairs to the kitchen.

Fitz wasn't looking angry anymore. More....guilty. And broken. Not like the kind of broken when your mind shatters. More like heartbroken. Welp. That's not my problem anymore. It's his. I shoved the thoughts out of my head. I took the seat farthest away from Fitz. Which happened to be the seat next to Keefe. I avoided eye contact with Fitz the entire time. I mostly talked with Lihn and Keefe. Fitz stayed to himself only muttering things when someone asked him a question. Then he looked up. And I just had to turn my head in that direction at that time. When we made eye contact, my smile disappeared. His eyes said he was sorry but his actions didn't. He stood up with a huff and stormed out of the room. "Okaaayy," Keefe said. Everyone looked anywhere but me. I felt like I was going to explode. "Whoa there Foster," Keefe said fanning his face. "Your throwing all these emotions at me," "Sorry," I mumbled.                                                              Fitz came back into the room holding a plate of mallowmelt. He set it down in the middle of the table then slumped down in his chair. "Ah, look who's decided to join us again," Biana said.  I had to hold back my snicker. "Dad told me I needed to come back," Fitz mumbled. Everyone was silent for a minute. "Are we all going to sit here mourning or can we eat some mallowmelt?" Keefe said. "It's just screaming at me to eat it all," Everybody laughed, including Fitz. "We should eat it so Keefe doesn't devour the whole thing," Tam said. "Coming from you!" Keefe said back. "You'd eat the whole thing in three seconds! Your so fat, you could literally sell shade!" Keefe and  Tam don't necessarily get along very well. Tam stuck his tongue out and Lihn laughed.
