In the morning, I changed into new clothes and went down stairs. Fitz was the only other person there. He was sitting at the kitchen table doing some kind of homework. "Hey Sophie," he said nervously. "Hi," I replied. He was silent for a second. "I'm really sorry about yesterday," he blurted. I smiled sadly. "I don't know what was going on with me," he continued. "I'm really really  sorry Sophie. Can you please forgive me?" "I guess so," I say. "Can we get back together?" He whispered. I bit my lip. "Listen Fitz, I really want to make this happen, but I think we need a little time to heal," His expression looked hurt. "I'm sorry," I say. "Yeah. I don't know what I was thinking," I saw tears fill his eyes and felt some in my own. Just then Keefe came down stairs. "Uh are you guys okay?" He said. I wiped my eyes and Fitz did the same. "Yeah," we say at the same time.  Everyone else came down stairs and Della walked into the kitchen holding breakfast. She looked at me then Fitz and smiled sadly before walking upstairs.

I didn't say anything the rest of breakfast. Tam, Lihn, Dex, Keefe and Biana were the ones talking. Fitz and I were just staring at the table. Fitz's voice filled my mind. Again, I'm so sorry, he transmitted. I told you I forgive you, I transmit back. I noticed you took your rings off. He continued. And I understand your mad at me. But just do me a teeny favor and put them back on? I sighed. Fine. He let out a sigh of his own. Thank you.
