Purely Business

Chapter 5

We were already in our room. He was on the bed, wearing his eyeglasses again while facing his laptop that was on his lap. Natatakpan na rin ng kumot ang kanyang legs.

I was preparing for bed while he was busy. I was wearing my pajamas while I was drying my hair using my dryer.

Normally, I'd sleep on my silk nightdress or my sleeveless and shorts. Pero ngayong kasama ko itong asungot na ito, napagdesisyonan kong matulog na balot. I might buy more pajamas tomorrow dahil konte lang ako pajamas ko dahil nga mas gusto kong magnightdress or shorts.

Since I was facing my dresser's mirror, I have a full view of Chris but of course I wasn't looking at him. I was looking at my reflection while drying my hair. Aksidenteng napunta ang mga mata ko sa kanya at nakita kong nakatingin siya sakin.

I quickly removed my eyes from him. When I looked again to see his reaction, I immediately regretted it! He was still looking at me. Hindi man lang inalis yung tingin niya sakin nung nagtama ang mga mata namin! Damn it.

"Do you need something?" He asked.

"W-Wala..." I said.

What the hell? Jillian Kathryn. Nautal?

Hindi na siya nagsalita pa at binalik ang kanyang atensyon sa kanyang laptop. His eyebrows were furrowed while he was typing something on his laptop. Maya maya ay tumunog ang kanyang cellphone na nakapatong sa side table ng kama. Kinuha niya yun, pinindot bago dinikit sa kanyang tenga.

"Hello...yes, good evening." He said in a cool tone.

After drying my hair, I unplugged the blow dryer and placed it on my dresser. I brushed my hair before walking towards the edge of the bed. I looked at him and when he noticed me, he turned his eyes on me while he was on the phone.

"...how urgent is this? I was about to sleep...right now? Fine...okay, thank you," He said before ending the call and placed the phone on the side table again. "do you need something now, Jill?"

Huminga ako ng malalim bago humalukipkip. "Saan ako matutulog?"

He raised an eyebrow at me before glancing on the empty side of bed, which was beside him. "Here?" Pilosopo at patanong niyang sabi.

"And you?"

"Malamang dito, kung nasaan ako nakaupo." Sagot niya.

"No," Agad kong sabi. "hindi tayo magtatabi!"

He sighed before removing his eyeglasses. "There's only one bed, Jillian."

"Kaya nga dun na ako sa kwarto ko!"

"Are we going to fight about your room again?" Pagod niyang sabi bago pinatay ang kanyang laptop at bumangon.

"Where are you going? Hindi pa tayo tapos!" Sigaw ko nang makita kong naglalakad siya papunta sa walk-in closet.
