We all were sitting around the table silently eating what my aunt made for us when a knock sounded at the door.
We all looked at each other when suddenly my uncle excused himself from the table, "Who would knock so early?"
My uncle opened the door and the messenger boy's face appeared.
"Good morning, sir" he greeted my uncle.
"Yes?"
"The mayor called an town meeting immediately" he said.
"Alright, we'll be there in a gif" My uncle quickly replied.
He closed the door and told us to finish up. Why would Baker order a town meeting this early? It must be urgent.

After we all finished eating we joined the buzzing noise in the church waiting for the mayor. I could hear everyone asking what could be so urgent which obviously is what I was also wondering.
The room turned quiet as the mayor walked in. Everyone was looking at him in expectation.
"Good day"He greeted.
A long silence followed.
"I wouldn't have called you hear if this wasn't important. I have some news that could change out entire lives"He stated.
Quickly people started whispering about the possibilities of what could've happened. While I was looking at the sorrow in his eyes.
The mayor raised his hand commanding silence.
"The Castle has been attacked"
Gasps quickly invaded the room.
"We don't know if the King and Queen has escaped or if they have been..."He said.
"Who has taken the castle over?! What is going to happen now?! Do we still have a King and Queen?!" Questions were being held from everyone in panic.
"We have been attacked by the Romans!" The mayor yelled out.
"Will we be forced to submit to them?" John Davis asked amongst the other members.
"They think they can take our castle, but it's not the castle that makes the country it's the people of this vast land!"He Shouted.
"My fellow people, in two days we're going to show them who village folk really are!"
"What do you mean in two days?" Erim asked.
"They have sent a message letting us know that they'll be here in two days, but we will not surrender!"
People went crazy as the words left his mouth. They were shouting from the top of their lungs.
"Mayor Baker, Mayor Baker, Mayor Baker!" The people chanted his name.
Without anyone seeing, I rolled my eyes. The dumb thing. I wanted to scream something. I wanted to tell them that their plan wouldn't work.
But I knew better.
Without really thinking about my next move. Without having even a thought about what I was gonna do.
I stood up.
And walked out.
Behind me the church turned quiet. Not a word was said, you could only hear shoes walking on the wooden floor.
I didn't have to turn around to see how my aunt's face has turned red. I knew what would happen the very next minute.
I heard footsteps walking out of the church. I could hear how all the other people followed, but I walked on trying to make it seem like I'm not phazed at all.
