AUTHOR'S NOTE:  Disappointment Warning :

Just a mini-update to share Sanem's perception as I did at the end of the last chapter for Can's perception.

---------------------------------------------------

Sanem was baffled. Utterly.  Baffled.

She felt blown away...   and...  a bit ...  bewitched.

She had been forced to rush past that kiss when Yigit had arrived, pulling her focus to carrying on conversation with him, then mingling again after the presentations were over.  Fortunately, she was able to use her travel as an excuse to avoid extending her evening with him, blaming jet lag and promising a rain-check.  While she was, in fact a bit tired, her mind wouldn't allow a quiet moment to rest.  And when her mind replayed those fleeting seconds, her heart fluttered and her stomach did a flip.  This was just not acceptable!  She was never before so affected by another human being.  It was an entirely foreign thing for her and she didn't know how to deal with it.  She didn't like feeling so out of control...  but there was also this...  exhilaration she felt with it and she absolutely reveled in it!  What the hell is happening to me?!  Why can I not get a grip on myself?   She was so restless, pacing from the kitchen to the living room and back again... sitting on the sofa to try to read, getting up to pace some more.  She finally got so frustrated with herself she tossed the book she had been ignoring to the couch cushion and changed clothes to go for a run.

She grabbed her tools, (this late at night, she knew she needed extra self-defense items.  She hated it, and she had training, but she wasn't stupid.)   After a quick stretch, she kept a quick jog for a few meters, but felt the urge to sprint... to just run the chaos out of her.  Once she felt her body start to feel fatigued, she slowed.  Jogging turned to brisk walking, which turned to a slow saunter as she approached a bench on the water front.  She sat, leaning forward, forearms resting on her knees for a moment as she looked out over the bay.  She leaned back, tilting her eyes skyward, catching a few stars still visible...  It was harder to see them from within the well-lit city, but her eyes picked out some of the brighter ones... possibly planets actually.

She allowed herself to relax a little as she was able to turn her focus to the vast expanse of universe out there.  Maybe the Powers That Be know something I don't.  In that moment, she subconsciously gave herself over.  It was partly her own sense of adventure, allowing herself to open her mind and soul to the idea of this new path she'd never before considered.  She just may struggle with giving up total control.  She had to be headstrong in her past to get to where she was today.  It was a challenging profession for anyone, but for a woman...  well, let's just say she had to overcome many more obstacles than her male counter parts to become as successful and respected as she now was.

It made her a bit cold.  Solitary.  Not in a bitter way as some end up... unapproachable or just anti-social.  Her solitude was therapeutic for her.  She simply didn't feel that pull... that need for companionship.  Now the idea was dancing around her mental peripheral if you will...  teasing a bit.  Enticing.  Part of her felt she would be admitting defeat if she opened herself to it... pursued it.  But the other part was intrigued.  We'll just loosen the reins a bit and see what happens.
