"Ah ah! Sorry, I was rushing and didn't see you!" She pulled back to straighten his jacket as he chuckled. "Well, I came looking for you- I guess I found you didn't I? Come to spend time with your sevgili, eh?" He was smiling. She was not and he took pointed notice. "What's wrong kızım?"
She was again flooded with uncertainty- something she did not often experience. Not since her mother had left her behind- she'd finally given up trying to understand it and closed that chapter long ago. But now- even after all her travels and worldly experience, she found herself floundering... floating alone in the middle of a tumultuous sea, swirling her to dizziness, pushing her, then pulling her - Uncharted waters with choppy waves threatening to overtake her as she tried to navigate her way to something solid.
Her father's wishes went against what she believed to be her very nature, tying her down, captive. But her love and respect for him, led her to want to help him. Support him. Even though he wasn't being honest with her about why he needed her to step in. Then, this completely foreign feeling of... of... she didn't even know what it was. She just knew it wasn't what she felt with Yigit, and she had to tell him. Regardless of whatever may come with Can.
"Sanem? Are you alright? Come, sit down." She was being led back to the little cafe area where she'd just left and the motion, along with his voice, finally brought her back from the cloud of confusion she had just been lost in. "I'm sorry... there's just a lot on my mind Baba. I'm okay." Aziz looked at his daughter and saw she carried a great weight. And he knew he'd placed it there. "Sanem, I don't want you to be tortured. I can work with Emre more closely to handle the business while I'm away." She replied without thinking, "Why didn't you go with Emre in the first place?" She wished she could have snatched the words back, but they were out. His face shone disappointment or- regret? And something else. Was it- shame?
Now, she felt he was the one carrying the weight of the world. "I'm sorry Baba- I don't mean to question you- He's just been the one who has been here you know? It just seemed to make more sense to me, that's all." His features softened a bit. "I know it seems to Sanem. And I did consider it, believe me. There are several reasons I ultimately asked that you take the helm." She looked to her father for any more guidance, or explanation, but it seemed he wasn't willing to go further. "Maybe one day I can give you more insight on this but, now is not the time."
She almost lost her composure at that- ready to shout at him that she knows he's sick, so how dare he assume there's all the time in the world to discuss these things at greater length. Metin's voice invaded her head. 'keep his legacy in good standing- respect your father's wishes.' She forcibly held her tongue and he could tell she wanted to say something. "I'm asking for your trust, kız evlat (daughter)." He saw her immediate resignation. "Of course Baba. Always." His furrowed brow eased a little, "Thank you-" he tried to redirect, "I don't mean to take time away from you and Yigit." He rose to leave and she stopped him. "About Yigit, Baba..." The furrowed brow returned. "Ne? What about him my girl?"

Can & Leyla walked into the office together, Can a little more relaxed and Leyla, just as rushed as she always was but, seemingly softer. "Ok, I have to get to my meeting- good luck this afternoon." Can leaned down for her cheek kisses, smirking a bit at her rare display of affection. "I'll be fine- Yigit said I could work from anywhere, so I may go sit in the park with my notebook for a bit... I'm not sure when he's to return to the office so- " Leyla waved him off. "I know you'll be fine with the work- I meant... you know- the other thing." She gave him a wink as his head dipped with an almost embarrassed grin. "Thanks abla."

FanfictionI had an idea hit me... and, as desperately as I want to finish Keşke, I just had to at least start this AU piece. It's basically just flipping Can and Sanem's characters, all others the same except substituting Yigit for Polen. (So, Yigit is to...
