AUTHOR'S NOTE: Just a teaser really... fitting for this chapter's title I think. ;)

Can meandered his way towards the rocks at the water's edge, passing by the pier and the benches where a few people lingered. He still had a small handful of chestnuts he was nibbling on along the way, and settled himself on one of the larger rocks closer to the water. The breeze was cool and refreshing.
He gazed out to The Maiden's Tower, then shifted his eyes skyward. He thought about his family and their unwavering support and he smiled softly, feeling truly blessed to have them. It nagged a bit at him that he also felt subtly held back by them. Not that they were consciously doing it, but sometimes the ties to family felt like bonds keeping him from completely spreading his wings. He wondered if it would have been easier if he didn't have such a close-knit family... or if he would have pursued his writing more seriously sooner. Then of course, he felt guilty for having those thoughts.
He tried to shake that off and pondered about his new endeavor to begin tomorrow at the publishing house. He was still a little nervous but, for the most part, excited. It may not be on a very grand scale yet, but it would definitely qualify as a new adventure for him.
New adventures... he was anxious to start another new quest in finding the source of that mysterious kiss he'd been blindsided with. He just was at a complete loss as to how to even begin the search for her.

Sanem had sat on the bench for a few minutes, just to take in some quiet contemplation. She wanted to consider things calmly. Carefully. Her first instinct was to get the Hell Outta Dodge when her father had shared his wishes to have her fill in for him at the agency. It just felt too confining. Too permanent. But she did hold him in the highest respect, so the weight of letting him down was certainly a factor. She was genuinely baffled as to why Emre had not been his go-to. It just seemed to make the most logical sense. He had been at Baba's side in the business for a few years now and surely was capable of taking lead... right?
Although, since he has been there, their father must know full well what Emre is capable of... his strengths of course, but also his weaknesses, like what Metin had eluded to earlier in the evening. Perhaps Baba isn't thinking irrationally in keeping Emre out of the driver's seat.
But then, now, there's this whole issue with their dad being ill and needing treatment. The fact that he's hiding it from his children is concerning to Sanem and feelings of worry swirl with hurt. She wished he would have trusted her enough to be truthful. With that thought, she rose from her seated position, almost physically trying to shake off her feelings. She turned to walk a bit, heading toward the rocks.

Can was starting to feel more settled about tomorrow and relaxed as he star-gazed. He thought he might even be able to get some sleep if he could just make it to his bed. He was reluctant though, on such a beautiful evening. It was a mild night, with only a soft breeze coming off the water. It was cool, but not uncomfortably so. He'd allowed his eyes to fall closed for a moment, embracing the slightly sleepy feeling. His other senses heightened a bit... feeling the breeze on his face, hearing the gentle surf and random, muted sounds of the waterfront.
He also heard something closer... not so close as to be alarming, but in closer vicinity than the rest of the distant sounds of the few people meandering in the area. It sounded like feet, navigating the rocks. Oh well, he thought, eyes still closed, I had my moment of peace and need to go home now anyway... I can give up my sanctuary for someone else who needs it. As he heard the footfalls near, he took in one last cleansing inhale just as the wind shifted.

FanfictionI had an idea hit me... and, as desperately as I want to finish Keşke, I just had to at least start this AU piece. It's basically just flipping Can and Sanem's characters, all others the same except substituting Yigit for Polen. (So, Yigit is to...
