Intruder

I opened the door to my car, got in and closed the door, I let out a big sigh.

'What the hell was that? No, no, he's probably just feeling bad because of his break up and feels lonely or something, this doesn't mean anything and if it did, I don't want to be the rebound' I thought to myself.
'Or maybe nothing happened, and I was reading too much into this, even if it did, the last thing I want to be is just a rebound.' I tried to push it out of my head.

I got home, as I opened the door Han happily greeted me,
"Hey baby" I said as I crouched down to pet him and he licked my face" I got up and locked the door behind me. I went to the cabinet and took out a can of dog food and mixed it in with dry food in his bowl, I set it down on the floor and went to my room. I took out my pajama shorts and shirt from my drawer and changed into them. Han pushed open the door and climbed on the bed with me, I turned off the light and we both fell asleep.

>Noises in the kitchen woke me early morning, I sat straight up I looked at the clock 7:47am, I turned and saw Han next to me staring at the open door. He got up, jumped off the bed running through the door before I could stop him, "Han No!" I said in a whisper, but it was too late.

"Damn" I threw the covers off me and ran to my closet where I kept my gun. I opened the case, picked up the gun, threw the strap over my head and arm and inserted a full magazine.
I pressed the stock against my shoulder in position, I took my hand off the barrel and opened the door slowly then returned my hand to the barrel of the gun.
I went through the door and the hall was empty, I slowly made my way down the hall. I leaned against the wall getting ready to turn the final corner that had a clear view of the living room. I took a few seconds to steady myself, I turned the corner pointing the barrel of my gun to the man,
"Don't Move" I said, I didn't yell but I said it loud and clear enough I know he heard.
