"you sure you're okay jaehyun?"

no response.

"jaehyun, answer me, please?"

nothing.

"jaehyun," doyoung whispers once more, placing his hand on jaehyun's.

said boy finally snaps out of his trance, looking up to see the older's eyes focused on him.

"um- huh? sorry, i wasn't really paying attention," he finally responds.

doyoung frowns at this, jaehyun obviously wasn't fine after what happened. he could tell the younger was confused by everything, and he was too.

"i'm acting on my own," was that supposed to be a confession of some sort? did jaehyun have feelings for him too?

well, he did kinda kiss his neck back in the park.. and held his hand.. that means he might? right?

ha, funny. why would he have feelings for you, of all people?

it's not really the time.. voice in my head.

stop trying to convince yourself you'd have a chance with him.

doyoung brushes away his stupid worries and insecurities. right now, he needed to focus on jaehyun, and the boy's well-being.

"hey," he whispered, rubbing circles into jaehyun's palm, "tell me what's wrong."

the younger looked into his eyes, he could see how much doyoung cared for him. it made his heart ache slightly.

"it's just- how can i say this? my feelings are a mess, doyoung. i want to love you, but i'm scared of messing up again," jaehyun buried his face into his hands in a bad attempt to hide his embarrassment.

doyoung carefully studied the younger's face, scanning for any hints of dishonesty.

"jaehyun, be honest. do you really want us to try again?" he didn't want to risk another heartbreak.

"yes- well, i don't know doyoung.. i really don't know," he sighed. it was the truth, he really didn't know.

he knows how much doyoung loves and cares for him, he could see it through the boy's actions and words. he wants to give his all to doyoung, to make up for what he's done in the past.

it conflicted jaehyun. he knows something's there, but he doesn't know if it's love, or just a strong appreciation for the older boy. he doesn't want to date him out of pity from the past. he didn't want to break his heart again.

"jaehyun," doyoung spoke up again, "i know you always have your reasons. so why do you try to force yourself to love me? you know i don't need pity-"

jaehyun was quick to interrupt him,
"i'm not doing this out of pity! why won't anyone listen to me? why won't anyone trust me?"

shit, he was getting angry. doyoung, it's time to act.

"hey, calm down.. i do listen to you, but you know it'll be hard for me to really trust you," he said in an attempt to cool him down.

jaehyun sighed, "i know it will, but please just try to trust in me," he grabbed onto doyoung's wrists as he begged, "i just want someone to trust me."

the grip on his wrists was tighter. doyoung wanted to pull away, but the look on the younger's face made him weak.

"please," the other whispered, giving the older puppy eyes.
