Intro:

First of, the most important thing for baby witches is research. No fancy tools, just a good source of information.

That being said, after you've read up on the basics of witchcraft, here's a few things that may come in handy in the future.

❝Research is key.

An altar:

Not every witch has an altar due to many different reasons, but it's very convenient to have a space for your practise.
This could be anything - your desk, a bookshelf, a coffee table, etc.
Some Wiccans use it as a devotional space for different deities.

Candles:

Almost every spell requires you to have a candle (or multiple!), so I recommend getting a variety of different colors, for different intents.
You can get cheap candles at the dollar store.

Crystals:

Most witches build their crystal collection throughout their life, but some of the best 'starter' crystals are:
rose quartz (love, healing, confidence)
clear quartz (balance, clarity, spirituality) - often used as a substitute for any crystal
amethyst (peace, dreams, positivity)

Herbs:

While not everyone uses herbs in their practise, they can be essential for some spells. Some of the most common herbs used in witchcraft are:
rosemary (cleansing, protection, memory) - often used as a substitute for any herb
sage (wisdom, prosperity, healing)
lavender (love, peace, dream work)
thyme (happiness, luck, strength)

Jars:

Trust me, you'll be needing A LOT of jars very soon. From collecting rain water, to jar spells, and storing herbs - they are very useful in your practise!

Divination tools:

If you are interested in divination, a good place to start is getting a tarot deck or a pendulum.

Outro:

Feel free to add anything onto this list in the comments, but keep it begginer-friendly.
