Chapter 21

"Dennis, please don't be dead," Winnie pleaded, "we just got together, I can't loose you now." Dennis then started to stand up. Winnie smiled and helped him back on his feet. Once he was standing again, Dennis threw Winnie in the direction of his parents. "Dennis, What was that for?" Mavis asked. Dennis opened his eyes which had turned red just like Winnie's did. "Oh no," Johnny said. Dennis looked over at Willie and Vivien who had their weapons ready.

"Guys no," Joey said, "we don't want to hurt him." Dennis then picked up his swords off the ground. "They have no use to us," Colossus said, "kill them all." "You know what?" Joey said. "We can at least use our weapons to defend ourselves." "I'm with that 100%," Johnny said. Everyone picked up their weapons off the ground. Mavis went back to the cell with Drac and Vlad since they didn't have any weapons to fight with.

Dennis was about to attack Winnie who reposed her bow as a staff and blocked it just in time. She tried to lean in for a kiss but Dennis kicked her backwards before she made contact and caused her to drop her weapon again. "Good," Colossus said, "start with her." Dennis walked up to Winnie, putting his foot on her so she couldn't get up. "Sorry if this hurts Dennis," Johnny said as he squeezed his son's wrists, causing him to drop his swords. He looked back at Johnny angrily and pulls his arms out of his father's grasp. Then he tackles him. "Dennis it's me," Johnny said, "it's your dad." "He can't hear you," Vlad said, "no matter to him you may be."

Suddenly, some strange energy wrapped around Dennis, clinching his arms to his sides. Johnny got up and looked around to see where the energy was coming from. "I got you covered Johnny," said Vivien. "Thanks," Johnny said. Willie then walked over and helped Winnie up. "Here, you dropped this," Willie said handing Winnie her weapon. "Thanks baby brother," Winnie said. "I am 9 years old!" Willie shouted. "And I am 12," Winnie said, "our birthday was 2 weeks ago. "Will you please stop teasing me with that joke? "Willie asked. "It's getting old." Suddenly, Dennis freed himself and used his powers to lift his whole team into the air. "What's happening?" Joey asked. "Dennis never used to be this powerful!" "Any vampire that I am mind controlling has a boosted power level," Colossus said, "now drop them back down." Dennis then dropped everyone down on the ground. They were once again struggling to get up. Dennis then summoned his swords to his hand like Thor does with his hammer and walks towards Winnie.

Dennis woke up in some unknown area. There was nobody in sight. He was all alone. "Mom! Dad! Winnie!" He kept calling out everyone's names and waited for an answer but the only response he got was an echo. "At last I finally meet you," said an unfamiliar voice. Dennis looked back and couldn't believe his eyes. Standing there was Martha. The person he had wanted to meet his whole life was standing in front of him. Dennis ran over and hugged his grandma. "I can't believe it's you," Dennis said, "I've wanted to meet you my whole life." Suddenly, a thought comes to his mind. "Wait a minute, am I dead?" Dennis asked. "Not exactly," Martha replied, "this place allows you to see people who have passed." "What is this place anyway?" Dennis asked. "This is where people go who are being mind controlled by Colossus," Martha replied.

Dennis then looked down sadly. "I can't believe I lost," he said as tears formed in his eyes. Martha picked him up and wiped the tears from his eyes. "You haven't lost yet Dennis," Martha said, "there's a way back." "How?" Dennis asked. "The powers you got from your grandpa," Martha replied. "Will I ever see you again?" Dennis asked. "Maybe in your dreams," Martha said. Dennis nodded and hugged her again. "I love you Grandma," Dennis said. "I love you too sweetie," Martha said as she kissed Dennis's cheek. Then she put Dennis back down and disappeared. "Alright, I can do this," Dennis said as he closed his eyes. Suddenly, purple energy started to form around his body. Then he smiled and opened his eyes which had once again changed from blue to glowing purple.
