I feel the exact moment the sun dips below the skyline, the moment the full moon begins its reign of the sky.

I feel it in the throbbing in my bones, calcium growing and morphing into new shapes. I feel it in the twitching of my muscles, readying themselves to be used by an animal much stronger than a human. I feel it in the pressure in my gums as enamel forces its way into place.

The monster forces her way through our cells, engulfing them, making them entirely her own. Tonight is her night, her only night.

I feel it in the way my body changes from a person to a wolf.

She swallows our mind whole and I lose my consciousness.

The moon gives her life.
