*Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, California...*

We are now in a Ford Focus liftback with three boys in Los Angeles.

The main man is Beauregard Sentry, Flash's younger brother, who is now in Flash's former line of work: auto boosting.

His motley crew is Spike, his driver, and Tripod, Bo's cohort.

Spike: "Corner of Hawthorne and Granvia. Tervis messed up. He said the Lotus would be on Hawthorne and Gran--"

Bo Sentry: "No, he didn't. There it is."

Spike held his tongue as Beauregard pointed out the 1996 Lotus Esprit V8 in the Exotic Car dealership.

Tripod: "That it?"

Spike: "You're kidding, right? Bo?"

He grins at them.

Beauregard L. Sentry, is not kidding.

Bo Sentry: "Pop the trunk. Lemme get my tool."

Tripod: "Bo, you are a tool."

He pulls a brick out of the trunk.

Spike: "Oh no..."

Bo goes from a slow walk progressively to a sprint, and hurls the brick at the window.

The alarms blare like wailing babies.

Bo walks into the showroom, glass crunching underfoot, and before long, he had his prize, firing up the 349 BHP mid-mounted V8 that bellowed like a beast.

Tripod jumped in the passenger seat, and Spike had already left.

He pinned the gas, and off they went, leaving several inches of British rubber behind.

Tripod: "Newsflash, Bo. You're driving a stolen car."

Bo doesn't talk for a second, rather, he smiles at the ascending tachometer and speedometer.

Bo Sentry: "Yeah. Ain't it great?"

Quick fade to black.

*Meanwhile, at the Long Beach Docks...*

Sound of a baseball hitting the wall.

In a warehouse, about a dozen absconded automobiles laid here.

The baseball is annoying the piss out of Shining Armor, whom we saw at the beginning.

However, Shining now walks with a limp.

Shining Armor: "Can you stop, for Christ-sake?"

Tervis: "What's your problem, man?"

Shining Armor: "Where are they?"

Tervis: "They'll be here. You nervous? Back in the day, you had antifreeze in those veins of yours. What happened..."

He tossed the baseball again, but this time Shining Armor intercepted the ball and hurled it across the warehouse.

Tervis: "Sit back, relax, and enjoy."

*Back in the Lotus...*

Next, up at a red light, a hotshot in his 1994 Camaro came up to the line fighting.

Bo revved the V8.

Tripod: "Stolen car, stolen car, stolen car, stolen car..."

Bo Sentry: "Stolen fast car. It's calibrated for 140, let's see if these British boys are full of shit or not."

Tripod: "No way..."

Yes, way.

Bo pinned the gas pedal and buried the Camaro in its wake.

The gauge rises, 90, 100, 110...

Tripod must be having an aneurysm.

However, Bo was unaware of the police helicopter in their trail as they warp-speeded past a police squad car.

*Down at the Long Beach waterfront...*

Tervis studies his watch.

He looks up, nervous, and now is getting antsy.

Shining Armor is directly in his view.

Shining Armor: "Something wrong, Tervis?"

Tervis: "Yeah, I'm missing Springer--"

As the Lotus pulls into the warehouse, Tervis flashes Armor an "I told you so" look.

Bo walked over to a clipboard, and with a black Sharpie, crosses out "13. 1996 Lotus Esprit V8."

The rest of his gang is looking the car over.

Shining Armor: "Zero to 60 in 4.9 seconds."

Tripod: "I can vouch for that."

Tervis passes out some 40 o.zs, and the air is celebratory.

Tervis: "Thirteen down, thirty-seven to go."

Beers are clinked and anecdotes are exchanged, but all for nought as a bright white spotlight shines through the roof.

Tervis: "Damn! Let's get out of here!"

Shining Armor: "Damn it, Flash, you gone and done it."

A half dozen police cars crowd the building.

Sergeant Spitfire, whom you remember from earlier, is stepping out of a squad car.

She's slightly older, although her fiery locks still look the same.

Inside, Spitfire investigates the stolen property.

Her new deputy, Squad Captain Wind Whistler, comes out from behind shipping containers.

Wind Whistler: "They're gone."

Spitfire nods and looks at the cars.
