All shattered with nowhere to go
Dreams scattered for you were the last to knowThat all the pieces stop fitting quite right
When the pain increases, more details coming to lightAnd you're really broken, even I can't reach your soul
He left you really broken, face down in your holeAnd now it's just you and God because human hands can't console
The grief that grinds the diamond heart
into a mound of powdered coalAll shattered with no daylight to guide
Too battered to dress your wounds in
prideAnd in your poetry where dreams and death collide
You resurrect every nightmare that ever triedTo steal your pieces one by one from the inside
And any memory of joy has long committed suicideStoring away fairy tales of glue that no splintered soul could hide
All shattered with nothing dry to wipe away tears, already cried
