Chapter 39

Winter’s P.O.V

It has been two years since Caleb came here to Alaska; he more likely stayed here than visited. Of course he stayed here in our house. When I introduced him to my mom; well let’s just say that she really insisted Caleb to stay here so the guy didn’t have a choice. I worked here at our family’s business branch as their official lawyer and Caleb became the CEO. Our parents were still the ones handling the business but soon they will be handing it to us. Oh and by the way my dear Caleb here graduated in Yale. When he told me about it I was so proud of him. Even though I didn’t go to Yale University I’m still happy ‘cause he got to study there. My mom of course got better due to the treatment and therapies she receives, so now we’re at the plane going back home to Montana. We planned to celebrate my birthday there which is three days from now. When we got off the plane I ran to the people who were waiting for us near the exit door.

“CHLOE, KATE, MARK, COLE?!!! I shouted while running towards them but they met me half way.

Three of us girls hugged each other, gosh I really missed them. Caleb and the guys also did a man hug. I heard a cough, so I broke out from Chloe and Kate’s hug to see my father opening his arms for me.

“Daddy” I hugged him. “How have you been sweetheart?” he asked “Great dad, happy and complete” I said while looking at Caleb hugging his mother.

“Winter Line Flare,” Aunt Libby said “Where’s our hug? I just smiled and went to hug them.

After our get together in the airport I finally arrived at my house; Caleb also went to his to spend time with his mom and dad. Someone knocked at my door and I saw it was my dad.

“Hey baby, I know you’re really tired so your mom and I decided to prepare the things for your birthday. We already called the caterer and the venue will be at out Hotel which is at the Lighthouse grand Palace”

“Thanks daddy, Uhh where’s mom? Mom and dad may be divorce but that doesn’t mean they can’t be friends.

“She’s resting at the guess room.”

“Okay”

“Here just list down all the people you want to invite and we’ll take care of everything else.” I did what he said then after that I went to sleep. Guess I have nothing to worry about.

Today’s the day happy birthday to me. I looked at myself in the mirror my makeup artist already finished my makeup and now I just got to wear my dress/evening gown which is a red bareback long gown with gold diamonds around the front forming a huge diamond shape. At the top is a tube and the back is a bareback. I’m very fond of bareback dresses. The lower part of my evening gown is long that starts from my thigh and ends longer at the back forming a V shape. I whore my black pumps and black gloves and lastly I wore the necklace Caleb gave to me.

When I was done I went down the stairs to meet up with my mom and dad. I notice that Caleb’s not here yet. I got a little worried, He’s not usually late.

“Mom, where’s Caleb, why isn’t he here yet?”

“Don’t worry honey, maybe he just got caught in traffic. Any ways your dad and I will be going now alright, see at the venue. Just wait for him a little longer.” My mom said

I waited for about 5 minutes and then I hear the door open seeing the love of my life enter the room. “What took you so long; you’re usually not late on occasions like this Caleb.”
